It has to be natural water on level 0, like in this picture:
Image

Yes, the water pump is replaced by the water inlet, but the requirements keep the same.

I will update the mod pack in CDB these days...

Is there some way to you could add support for ways to store or generate electricity from water? I am not sure what a good setup fr this would be, but I think a pumping plant and reservoir would be really nice, it is used to store much energy like at the Edersee.
My English is not so good, because I am german

Water in Minetest is difficult. It's endlessly renewable. A reservoir would only be imaginable with special water, where the water level can fall and rise. But yes, something like that is still missing...

hmmm or maibe it can just generate a steady flow of ku if its connected to a river to simplify things a bit (like 20 ku per generator multiblock structure but always gives ku at any time )

and the reservoir would need to be large making it expensive as it would otherwhise be a quite OP source of ku

Such generator would require regular polling of surrounding area for water, so having server utilisation in mind, a limit of these blocks per user and/or area (similar to max number of forceload nodes) would be highly advisable. That would eliminate exploitation and instead promote cooperation between players.

Ideally, minetest engine itself could provide and dynamically update a 'pressure-like' node property for still water with an efficient API for querying for lakes and other reservoirs. Maybe we see something like that one day.

Cheers

my idea is to replace the water in the reservoir with some kind of 3d animation that you can "swim" on (or be teleportet and velocity reset whenever youre going down faster that a certain speed ) which rivers could fill up slowly

That was really unexpected in singleplayer. Maybe you should make it configurable?

BTW. I played TA with dynamic_liquid and found that I cannot make basalt. That mod overrides lava cooling and I didn't find any easy way to override it back.

I changed the mod. Ordinary flowing water is now sufficient to drive the wheel. A pond is no longer needed. But the sluice can still be used to control the water flow in the millrace.

BTW: Techage v1.1 (as techage modpack) including the watermill is available on CDB

Here is a YouTube Playlist with several short videos to techage and techage modpack.

Unfortunately the videos are all without a speaker or in German language. My English is too bad.
If someone here could perhaps do "how to" videos in English, I would be very happy.
But: Techage is a very big mod, that certainly results in a whole series of videos ...

Thanks to Thomas-S for adding this feature.

lol, typical ...

I thought more about next step to real wiring:
* Phase (L1, even if L2 and L3) in brown
* Neutral, N in blue
* and Safety in yellow/green ?

3-wired electric, hihi

and then a securing fuse ... haha
