[Mod] Tinkercad [tinkercad]

by citaconrama » Post

Hello! This is my first mod. The code is simple but I think the idea behind it is powerful. Let me show you with images...

Let's say you have a model created in Tinkercad, for example this fortress:

Tinkercad has a feature which exports the model in Minecraft format. Just click on the pickaxe button, select the resolution and click export. It will download your .schematic file.

Now you can use MTS Editor to convert this file to .mts format. If you do not know how to do it you can visit viewtopic.php?t=23724

But the blocks.csv file included in MTS Editor lacks some of the blocks used by Tinkercad, and you have to edit this file if you do not want lava instead of orange blocks. For some reason Tinkercad staff chose blocks with lava or water for your orange or blue models. So I had to edit the file to prevent this issue.

With the blocks.csv file included in the project no errors will be found during the conversion. Replace the original blocks.csv with the one included in this project before running MTS Editor.

Next step, export the file. When exporting with MTS Editor you can choose:
1. Mineclone2. This will export the mts file with reference to tinkercad mod.
2. Minetest game and biome. This will export the mts file converting every node to default:stone. If you do not like it, you can edit blocks.csv with the blocks that you want.

Place your .mts file in the /schems folder of your world. Add a mod that can import mts schematics. My favourite is handle_schematics by Sokomine. With it, you can replace very easily the nodes.

If you selected mineclone2 you should add also Tinkercad mod, since your mts file is created with references to the nodes defined here.

Here you can see some of the nodes:

This is the first time I upload something to gitlab and the first time I post something made by me in the forum, so forgive my mistakes. I can't wait for you to test it and share your creations. Enjoy!
