Markdown Server News
This mod shows server news to players when they log in.
Usage
By default, a player will be shown the server news every time they join. Players can also view the news using the /news command.
There is a checkbox in the news window that, when checked, will prevent the mod from showing the news to players when they log in. The /toggle_news command has the same effect as clicking this checkbox. The mod will automatically detect when the news has been updated using a stored hash. If updates are detected and the player has requested to not be shown the news upon logging in, they will receive a message in chat informing them of the news update. If updates are detected and the player has not changed the setting, then they will be shown the news like normal.
How to Change the News
The news files will be in the main world folder. This mod tries to show players the correct language of news, so there will need to be multiple news files in the main world folder. These files should be in markdown format, and have the filename news_<language code>.md. Sample news files are included in the "sample" folder, which should be moved to the correct location if you want an example.
