[Mod] AP Airship [ap_airship]
AP Airship Mod for Minetest 5.4 or newer

This mod is an experiment with attachments and some other ideas I'm testing. It's derived from Steampunk Blimp, but with some special features like clickable seats, control, ladder, etc. The fuel is disabled at this moment, so it can fly forever, but in future I'll think something to make it interesting. And it is compatible with winds, including the climate_api from TestificateMods.
The mod probable have bugs at this stage. So I do not recommend put it on a server now. I'm using it on my server, but on my own risk. And ignore the manual, please.
To go onboard, do a right click on external stairs. To go offboard, do a right click on internal ladder to the cabin.
The anchor feature only works when grounded. But. I made an special priv to enable it anywhere, it's named "ap_airship_anchor"
The collision needs a lot of work, so ignore it.
When I have time I'll fix the main issues and someday it will be better usable.

Nice work on the airship but I have found a small problem. When I go to land the airship and set the engines to idle the ship goes automatically in reverse. This happens even when I shut down the engines.

That is the wind effect, except for the helicopter and the Steampunk Blimp, all the airplanes are affected by the wind now!
That's why we have this on airutils now:

Have I missed something while trying to launch the AP Airship [ap_airship]
This looks fantastic and is very large! But I am at a loss on how to launch it. If I right-click the wheel, disable the anchor and take the control, I can't control the aircraft at all. I try restarting the engine and taking myself from the control and back again, but I still just walk around the cabin instead of controlling the aircraft. Is there another step I missed? I am in 5.6.1 if that helps.

Try setting the power at 50%, to test if the wind is causing something

I believe I soft locked myself. I drove my ship around, land it and get off the controls then after I left the ship I realize I forget to turn off the engines. Now there is no ramp and clicking on the airship does nothing. What do I do?

Oh that? I had experimented with overwriting dirty with grass to use the plant rooted drawtype and I think it was cool but not quite 'fluffy' enough to me so I made a mesh more to my liking, if you like here is the mod I'm using:
