Would it be possible for a mineraft-like armor mod to be made?

This could actually be something. Like a crafting table, but for armor. You have to craft it like:
xxx
xmx
xxx

x=cobble
m=steel ingot (what everyone else calls iron ;)

then you take and craft armor from materials like mese or steel. Or maybe cloth (which could be from cows in the animals mod). But how to equip it, or tell how long it lasts, I'm puzzled O.O

Like I said, it's just a thought

We need a Model of the player in the inventory not just for the texture pack as i.e. when your in the inventory you equip with slots beside the player,armor strenght is a different story though

can you make the inventory crafting place discard and do 4 because you have now the craftingbench mod with 9 places or 16

armor best idea ever i have textures for armors
if someone can make mod and someone to make a patch with new inventory slots and use iron armor and mese armor

It wouldnt be that hard to add 4 more slots, then check these slots' contents. As for modifying the damage taken, that would be a bit more difficult.

There is an API for it, but it just hasn't been finished. I might finish it someday for the heck of it
