Hoes are used to turn dirt or dirt_with_grass into soil
They are crafted like this:
Mat Mat
stick
stick
Where Mat is either wood, stone, steel or bronze. The materials differ in the number of uses they have.
Soil turns into wet soil when a water node is nearby.
Wheat seeds drop randomly when digging grass (default:grass, not dirt_with_grass).
They can be planted on soil and will grow in 8 growing steps on wet soil.
The more they are grown the higher is the chance to get drops.
4 harvested wheat can be crafted to flour, wich cooks in the furnace to bread. Bread heals 2 hearts.
Cotton seeds drop randomly when digging junglegrass.
Cotton grows in 8 growing steps on wet soil.
4 strings can be crafted into 1 white wool node.
Compatibility to old farming mod:
The old farming mod is dropped. To properly convert your maps that have used it, you need to install the updated farming_plus: http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?id=2787
It contains all parts of the old farming mod that are not included in the new one in minetest_game.
Be sure to delete the old farming mod when upgrading to a Minetest version that has farming.
Farming is a great mod and it's nice that at least the basic version finally made it into the default game. Another item I'd like to see in the default game would be straw(stairs) for roofs. Straw is a natural material which was used for roofings for thousands of years. The darkage mod has such straw roofs, and I used that texture in my cottages mod as well. The only problem is how to craft it in a sensible way.

Maybe add it as an extra drop to wheat?
what about having one wheat craft 3 straw items and you can make the blocks from there. or it can be reversed
Coding;
1X coding
3X debugging
12X tweaking to be just right

Dry shrub is too rare for straw roofs. Harvesting wheat and getting only farming:wheat_harvested (no additional seeds while harvesting) would be more logical. Perhaps the seperation of corn and straw could be done by threshing. In on_use, the wheat stack could be sepearated into corn (used for flour and as seed both) and straw (for roofs etc) withhin the player's inventory. At least if there's enough free space there and if the node the wheat was used on is hard enough.
if the bed is breaking a static spawnpoint than its a bad idea, else its a good idea (its only my opinion) but you can install the bed or papyrus bed mod if you want it.
Sounds like a good idea, but it must be stable enough first. For starters, the teleportation arrows could require one mese crystal, one diamond crystal, one gold ingot, and two jungle wood sticks.

and also, one arrow = infinite teleportation. The reason being, the arrow drops when it lands, and when you teleport there, you get the arrow.
