I changed my mind here. I simply refuse to choose.Mossmanikin wrote:If I had to choose I'd take Mobf, even though there are a lot of bugs.

I love them both. The mummies from Pyramids also rock my world. I was at a kids birthday party, with a bunch diehard minecraft kids. I installed Minetest with the Immersive Fun game, and what they loved about it was the mobs. Especially the mummies, npcs, animals, sandmonsters, & vombies.

I like having mobs in the game but mobf has just gotten too buggy for me lately. I don't know if it's all of the other mods I'm running or what. Unfortunately, I don't really care for hostile mobs and I've got them turned-off. I also have the traders turned-off because they've got a nasty habit of spawning in areas I'm using. What I like about the mod, though is the variety of animals.
I don't recall if i've ever tried simple mobs or not. It seems to me that I have but they were just 2D. I don't remember if I ever had any trouble with the mod.
What I'd really like to see is a mod with a lot of peaceful animals that's relatively light on system resources and is stable. Basically, I'm looking for moble eye-candy that is occassionally useful (think wool from sheep, milk from cows, et cetera).

The peaceful mobs from mobf are usually peaceful in regard to cpu usage as well. Deleting all the subfolders with the hostile mobs helps a lot.Jouster27 wrote: What I'd really like to see is a mod with a lot of peaceful animals that's relatively light on system resources and is stable. Simple Mobs
The Spawnsystem
But im not restless saticfied with mobs, because the Mobs stopp to attack after a while , and only a Restart of the Game will help.

Re: [Discussion] Mob Framework or Simple Mobs?
Greetings,
It's been awhile since I have used either one. Framework has a lot of mobs and Simple was a bit more stable.
In the end, I decided to go with krupnovpavel's New Mobs, because I liked the variety of peaceful mobs and Blockman's Creatures because it was simple and I liked the idea of peaceful days and terror filled nights.

[mobf] is the more powerful API to my mind, unless something massive has changed with [mobs] since I last played with it. [mobs] does have the performance advantage, which is hard to argue against.
I think as an out-of-the-box mod, [mobs] is nicer. But [mobf] is of more use for mod/game development and expansion.

I write code. Sometimes, it even works.
