by oxenfreedan » Post

So fedora is now the base OS on my newest laptop. After using it for awhile i go into yum to download minetest and low and behold the most up to date version they have is guess what?

So anyone have a 0.4.7 MT for Fedora linux?

I've played minetest since 0.3.1 came out!
Mostly when on forums I'm using a uniden tablet!

I suggest you compile it yourself, its really easy. Get the source here: https://github.com/minetest/minetest and read the README.txt (dont forget minetest_game).

You would have to make a package.
But you know, other fedora users can probably compile it, too.
I made a few (a lot of?) mods for minetest: here is a list.
See also the MT-Faithful texture pack (work in progress).

Surely anyone could just compile it, but we still have packages for different linux distros.

I cant get this to work I think that part of it may be that the readme file was made for computers using ubuntu, debian or mint.
so I was wondering if a Fedora or a linux user could get on the minetest irc sometime and help me get farther along.
thx for all the help so far.
