Erm... I know that this has been talked about before, but could someone please try making a pokemon mod? I know it would take a long time and all that, but even if it's not your first priority, it feels good to know that someone is trying! I'm attempting to learn Lua, but it's gonna be a while before I can do anything with... well anything really .

playing cards/Gambling
each person playing has an table with inventory like thing showing the game to play. when 1 table gets set with an game, other table touching that table gets set to that game. when game is set, inventory will change to that game's starting place. You can use mese crystals or mese as a chip and put chips in so you can play. you can see other player's status on the inventory. you can play the game from there and there will be something that will keep you from sheeting. There will be chat like thing for only the peoples on table can see. when that game ends or everyone on the table shuts the inventory, it gets reset to game choosing place.

I had an idea for another mod. This mod will make the game kind of like tower defense game. in center of the map, there will be special node. All enemy will head towards the special node avoiding or attacking all obstacles. There is different types of enemy that spawn randomly from every direction at least 500 block away from special node. There will be flying, walking and underground enemy and each enemy killed will give some special materials that enemy takes time to destroy. every other normal node can be destroyed very quickly and normal weapon not made from special nodes is useless against them. Each enemy will have different amount and type of material and different life time. These special materials can be used to make castles, wall, weapons, defense robots and self targeting machine guns. Every player will get basic special blocks when starting and when game is reset. If people die, they will be respawnd to the center of the map. No one has a fly without using special jetpack thing made from special node.

*balloons-when blown up stay in the air as decoration.(pop when hit)
*black hole- a black spot that circles the sun and includes another realm like moon and nether accessible by similar methods
*solar -adds more to the night sky like planets,solar systems and nebulae. this might need a control interface to avoid crowding.
*on-screen control- if you port it into a tablet via flashing the device to a desktop os it would allow keyboard-less control
*font choice- no offence the original font is good but i might want a different option to add to the game
"chat-bot- a little box that talks to you and gives hints about the surrounding area for as-long as he is in your inventory. so if there is gold in a 20 block radius or mese ect. (in the chat line specific to you. so hidden to other players)
i hope these inspire some brilliant mod builders

Similar to a furnace, I'd like an altar mod. Instead of the method "cooking" and the group "fuel", the method would be "sacrifice" and the group would be "offering".
Ritual dust could be crafted from something and used to convert regular nodes (stone, gold_ingot, papyrus, what-have-you) to a ritual version (adding the group:offering to them). Offering nodes could be crafted back again into the original nodes, leaving the ritual dust behind, much like how crafting a lava bucket into a lava node leaves the bucket behind. This is so that people can repurpose offerings in case they create too many.
We could keep burntime and rename it sacrifice-time, or remove it completely in favor of a button that "sacrifices" the contents once.
The advantage of keeping burntime is that the code for fuel and cooking is already there, just needs to be copied and renamed, and then certain offerings could be more effective than others (e.g. offering meat is probably better than offering dirt). The disadvantage is that all offerings would do the same thing. If it were based more on a craft method, then certain offerings would create different magic items than others (e.g. offering stone over a set of armor boots decreases falling damage, whereas offering sand increases player speed.)
The output of sacrifices doesn't matter right now, because most of that could be customized later on. The inner workings are what counts.
