I did not even consider how the holes looked :0 i have caped them but i will cover and re-naturalize the area. please tell me if my efforts look good i will try to clean up my mess and if there are any other problems with my builds then let me know i welcome suggestions how else will i know if it's ugly or not rightSokomine wrote:That would be very fine indeed! Those holes in the ground do annoy me a bit as well. Imagine people falling down :-) So by all means please re-naturalize the area after digging the hole with the quarry. A slim cover of dirt and a few trees on top might do :-)webdesigner97 wrote: Ah, I can see that They leave some ugly holes in the landscape. Of course I can't force you to do this, but it would be nice if you could cover the top of the holes they make once you don't need them anymore
[Server] VanessaE's Survival Server [5.4.0]
Now I can connect with the latest build, but after a while it always crashes with "Some exception: "std::bad_alloc"". Is this a problem with the client or the server?qwrwed wrote:I can't connect with sfan5's latest 2 builds (and one from 17th October) - after connecting to server, downloading the media, etc., it either suddenly closes, or I get the "minetest.exe had encountered a problem and needs to close" error. In the second latest build, it loaded for about a second before closing, and there was this in the debug.txt:

That's strictly a client problem.

I doubt your hardware is the issue. Try a different build, perhaps from a different source than what you're using now (e.g. if Blockmen's doesn't work, try one of sfan5's, etc).

Update:
Please use digitalaudioconcepts.com port 30001 to connect to this server (or use the public server list). Since I have my own domain and everything's on a proper VPS, I can phase-out the dynamic DNS service I'd been using.

How much will it cost to connect a building very close to spawn? Efficient waste disposal is extremly important. As is good water supply. I'm talking about the public nuclear reactor at spawn.webdesigner97 wrote: The sewers are making good progress. Most buildings around spawn can be connected within the next few days. I didn't calculate the price yet, but the closer a building is to the sewers, the cheaper connectiong will be (cause of pipe/wire length). This evening, when I'm back from school, I will start calculating, then I'll tell you Maybe you'll be online too... Let's see....Sokomine wrote:How much will it cost to connect a building very close to spawn? Efficient waste disposal is extremly important. As is good water supply. oh dear my old "AKW nee" times coming up again, sigh.
There was this workers mod somewhere. Maybe it should add policemen that carry protesters away.
Sort of weird seeing everybody having his personal nuclear reactor.
Maybe I should ask Reactor to add the ruined Tchernobyl reactor to his Pripyat map with lots of harmfull radiation around.
er - Nuclear waste disposal through the public sewer? Sometimes I'm pretty glad this is only a game - although these games do picture reallity pretty well ever so often ...Efficient waste disposal is extremly important. As is good water supply. I'm talking about the public nuclear reactor at spawn.

If the operator of a nuclear reactor gets the chance of cheap waste disposal...:-) (at least dying in MT has no real consequences )twoelk wrote: er - Nuclear waste disposal through the public sewer? As discussed in IRC, the hole seems to be some obscure engine bug, hmmmm (kwoelkr) discovered something similar to this in one of his singleplayer maps while doing some testing. I've tried twice to repair it, only to realize what it was.
The cause is as yet unknown, but fortunately it isn't anything I or anyone else on Survival have done, nor the map data nor any of the mods on the server, so far as anyone can tell, anyway.
Hopefully it'll be solved soon. In the meantime, um...just don't build with sand or gravel unless you like magic, disappearing structures/roads. :-)
