Okay, I've installed or extracted or compiled Love, but what now?

Drag lovetest.love over the shortcut, alias, or open with the command line;

love <path to dir>/lovetest.love

Then Love should open that love file (hint; they're ZIP FILES, you CAN extract them as normal archives), then you'll get this Lovely (pun intended) game that should be running independently.

Depends on how he packaged it. If it's the source code and the binary, you'll want to drag it onto the love binary. If it's exe, it's pretty straightforward!

I don't want to change my love 0.8 to 0.9 else I wouldn't be able to play mari0.

I know, but afaik, Mari0 2.0 will update to 0.9.0 with TCP/IP multiplayer.
