Also:
- No 'quick quote' feature (selecting text in a post and quoting only that)

I totally aggree with you.Linxx wrote:there needs to be more contrast between the bg image and the forum posts it makes my eyes hurt D:
Which background image? The background is white as it ought to be.Linxx wrote: there needs to be more contrast between the bg image and the forum posts it makes my eyes hurt D:
the one with the white stone and where you can read the post are white the only thing giving contrast is the bits of gray which is not much.Edit:props to who fixed the user information nice work :)Sokomine wrote:Which background image? That puzzled me at first as well. Clicking on the date/time did solve the problem. You can also switch to the default/"prosilver" board style. That does have a symbol in front of the name of the thread indicating the new postings. Changing the style works through User control panel/Board preferences/My board style.PilzAdam wrote: There is no "New Posts"/"Unread Posts" link that links to the unread post next to the topic title anymore.
Perhaps we need a better solution for the search function. Some overview topic for all the mods in mod releases and modding general might be a good idea. A bit like the mod database, but simpler: Categories which contain the name of the mod, the author, the link to the right topic and a very short (1-2 sentences) description. Might be a lot of work now, but new readers do not really have a chance of finding anything at all.PilzAdam wrote: The search function is even worse than the on in the old forum (searching for "Mod" has 7 matches).
*Nod* That ought to be turned off.PilzAdam wrote: The animated icons next to topics are really annyoing.
The prosilver style has other issues, I don't want to use it. In the testforum the Minetest style had these icons too, I don't know why they are removed now (I asked BlockMen to make them bigger, since they are only 5x7 px).Sokomine wrote:That puzzled me at first as well. Yay! The animations make the entire thing look cluttered. Glad they're gone.celeron55 wrote:I've been modifying the forum style tonight:Now I am personally approximately satisfied with how this looks.
- I made the font sizes in various places to be objectively 100 times better
- I removed the incredibly stupid post status animations (I cannot believe someone decided that it was a good idea to include those in the default phpBB theme. Seriously what the fuck?)
- I removed the annoying hover effects from post and section listings
- I removed the huge-ass bold dark blue style from regular nicks and made administrators dark green instead of dark red
EDIT: There are still important issues:
- The post title is way too far right in the page title. It should be first, like "Forum software switch - Minetest Forums" instead of "Minetest Forums Lorem Ipsum Blah Blah View Topic - Forum software switch"

Instead making them bigger (what looked just ugly) i removed them and changed it to the old forum way (clicking the date of last post to read the last unread post). And since the topic icon has a different collor when there are no unread posts this small icon is useless at all.addi wrote:the prosilver theme has a icon to view the last unread post:maybe somebody forgott it to add it in the minetest theme
uhm im talking about the icon "first unread post" and not "last post". clicking on the date links to the "last post" not to the "first unread post"BlockMen wrote:PilzAdam wrote: There is no "New Posts"/"Unread Posts" link that links to the unread post next to the topic title anymore.PilzAdam wrote:(I asked BlockMen to make them bigger, since they are only 5x7 px).Instead making them bigger (what looked just ugly) i removed them and changed it to the old forum way (clicking the date of last post to read the last unread post).
