this mod a 2 items to the hud, a ingame clock and a lag display, both are text and the lag reads the max_lag from the server!
(max_lag is not 100% realtime as it is set to decrease very slowly so worldedit lag spikes and other spikes will linger for a bit)

interesting.
Would it also show me immediately when I'm disconnected?
I sometimes seem to be able to set quite a lot of blocks until I notice the connection may have been lost.

if the server or you time out the server wont send the 'max_lag' to you and it will stop ticking/changing time
