Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Update: Doc's "chains" mod has been imported into this modpack, in a modified form: it depends on Homedecor's/Glooptest's chainlinks rather than directly using steel ingots. The exact recipe to use to craft the chainlinks from which this mod's items are made depends on whether Glooptest is installed. Steel/wrought iron and brass versions are available.
In so doing, the recipe for the wall chains has changed.
Also, I've added a coffee maker (model and textures by jp).
See the Crafting Guide for details.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
you dont need openAL. the windows build is just broken, you may try one of Fess builds or a build by Sfan5
Its easier to donwnload and use some other builds than installing OpenAL (i have it also installed but it helped not)
Fess: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=6745
Sfan5: http://sfan5.pf-control.de/minetest-builds/?f
i had the same problem, but the builds of Sfan5 and Fess worked fine.

How do you update the mod? I have to re-download it? (To get piano)

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
I use git to manage my files and mods, so for me it's just a matter of issuing a command to update someone's mod. For you, probably yeah, just delete the mod, re-download it from the link in the first post and repeat the install instructions.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Vanessa, I wanted to ask also, is there a simple way to play with a friend, only I and she? Because I have a friend who doesn't live in my city so I can't use the cable for PC. I don't want a server with all the apartments and houses, I want a world where we (only I and my friend) have to create all: houses and other...
Thankyou for the answer of the mod :)

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
You'll have to set up a server to do that, it's the only way. It's easy enough to do, see here: http://wiki.minetest.net/Setting_up_a_server
Were you and she in the same building, e.g. on a LAN, there's a shortcut that lets you do it from the Minetest client, but that won't work too well here.

Okay, I'll try this in approximately 2 week because now I have a mobile wifi, I'm on holiday, at home I can try it. Anyway, can I fall this guide viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2870 ? I hope to do good the last parts because for me are a bit complicated..

For further general stuff, please see the appropriate topics elsewhere on the forum rather than discussing those things here. This topic is specifically about the Home Decor modpack and its related components, and the other subjects are crowding this topic. Thanks.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Small update: I think I've fixed that locked signs bug that was preventing non-priveleged users from editing/digging their own signs. Server admins will need to help users with signs that they placed while the bug was in effect, but anything added after today, and anything that was already there before signs_lib took over the locked sign function should work fine now.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Another update: Added a toaster and a deck chair, models and textures by jp.
EDIT: More updates, inspired by some notes from LazyJ: signs now have a color reference in their dialog, though this messes up the formatting in the formspec of existing signs (does NOT affect the signs' text, just the formspec). Dig and re-place them if you find it annoying. Can't be helped, as the engine doesn't update an object's formspec (it's stored in the map with the object).
Changed the recipe for making tar to avoid a recipe conflict with Moreblocks and Streets mods. Now you must craft coal and gravel in a 2x2 square (either pattern) to get "tar base", then cook the result. Yields 2.
A couple of lrfurn recipes were using outdated/deprecated stairsplus items, now they point to moreblocks like they should.
Added recipes for the "Piepad" and "Wee" in the computers mod.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Update: as promised, and thanks to an idea from jp, I've rewritten the cobweb code so that cobwebs will exploit the 45-degree nature of the torchlike draw type where possible.
An algorithm has been added that will search for an X-Z corner to lay the cobweb against, and if it can't find one, it'll try to find two neighboring walls to suspend it between (e.g. [wall][air][wall], it'll put it in that air space). If that doesn't exist, the code will try to find a singular wall to just lay the cobweb flat on (vertical surfaces only). Failing that, it'll just place the plantlike one.
The node name has changed; there's an ABM to convert in-world cobwebs to follow this new algorithm, but in-inventory cobwebs can't be adapted. So when you update, place them in the world first or you'll lose em.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
I'll leave it to someone else to code MOBs and put them into an appropriate mod. :-P
Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
For those who have updated Home Decor recently and see an issue with the new cobwebs (unknown nodes), there is a little typo error in the ABM (will be fixed in Git today).
The fix : cobwebs.lua (line 147) -> replace homedecor_rotate_cobweb(pos) by homedecor.rotate_cobweb(pos)

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
The typo in the cobweb ABM is fixed in git.
As for mobs, I don't do them because I suck at dealing with entities, and besides which mobs really REALLY need client-side modding support, which we don't yet have.

Update: Added a few more items by jp: trophy, small wall shelf, grandfather clock, skateboard, and sport bench. As usual, see the crafting guide for details.
Also: I have imported my fork of Zeg9's item_frames mod into this modpack.

Update: Added a window box planter and copper pans, from jp. Also added a paper towel roll (by me :P ) and changed the toilet paper model to look similar.
