It would be so much better if you could have a reclaim button, so that you could reclaim an item that you have dropped up to 3 seconds after you have dropped it, unless it was dropped in lava/water...

In Minecraft you can use the 'r' button (I think) to reclaim lost items, It's extremely helpful...

Reminds me of the dwarf monks in Pixel Dungeon and Shattered Pixel Dungeon, they kick the weapon out of your hand. Then you have to pick it up and re-equip it. BTW: would that be possible for a mod/mob to remove an item from the inventory if a hit is successful?

Yes, you can make a weapon that removes an item from the inventory. The on_use callback holds in pointed_thing a reference to the object that is punched and can be used to get the inventory and thus the individual items. But that would override the default behaviour and would make the weapon useless in any other case, except you make your own damage code. (Which is problematic due to not being able to tell the time since the last use).

Have read all this messages and thought...

Is the air quality at y==65535 all that good?
I mean, if an Air Sword crafted out of y==+50 air is so powerful, then the air at y==65535 should be EXTREMELY powerful.

A friend of mine already has told me about the y==-31543 Air Sword being so weak that it actually heals the user and those invisible mobs, so I wanna check the "other side of a coin".

It depends.
Some games have a version of "item_drop" mod - some doesn't.
Some allows you to use /giveme chatcommand - some doesn't.
Sometimes there are other mods which prevent one from collecting any air.

You should probably post here full specs of your rig, the software installed, a list of environments variables, version of minetest (with a hash string, if you're using dev or unofficial build) and a list of installed mods with their versions.

That data should help us to tell how you should collect air in your configuration.

to craft air rope you need to craft cotton string and air block together to get AIR ROPE.

It is buggy though.

I always found strings from cobwebs more reliable - although if you harvest cotton as far away from water as possible it is almost as light as cobwebs

If you place your Air sword in a furnace it will produce an hot air sword. Handle with care!

Thank you Nubm. I just realized there is no crafting to make a hot air sword out of hot air. Made a pull request on github to fix it.

You can find the Scroll of Air ingame, it has some information about crafting and also a note about git and the devs. But i haven't looked close enough at the code to know how to obtain it.

Just read your warning after putting a hot sword (in fact glowing! Is plasma implemented?) in a wood chest. Now my wooden castle is burned down. But i have backups so not much is lost.

i still don't know if this topic is just a joke or actually real ...
but since i don't want to appear as a stupid person who can't use the airsword, i will just play along:

i noticed that an airsword made from maritime air is more durable than a sword made from dessert air.
the dessert air is just too dry and causes the sword to crumble after some time.
always use maritime air.
but don't use air from the middle of the ocean. if the air is too wet, it will make the sword heavy and slow.

When I have cookies for dessert, then they crumble after some time. I think you mean "desert" in this case.

My first impulse was to call him on that earlier. But didn't know how to do it in a few words without being too harsh. I was on my phone and it's too much hassle for me put much effort into posting.

We have already 4 posts that are relatively offtopic!

Can we please concentrate on the mod? It looks like many people have problems getting the Scroll of Air, me included.

I looked at the code last week end, but it is so hack-ish and my lua knowledge so limited that i couldn't figure it out.

Is someone here able to enlighten us how to get the Scroll or if it even is possible to get it through normal gameplay?
