Had this absolutely nuts idea of creating a tycoon-esque game using Minetest.

Nice idea! I wonder if it would be possible to play FreeCiv in Minetest. Cities that take up only one node would be a bit tiny - after all building something is what the game's about. Larger squares would in turn make it much harder to play due to lack of overview.Kenney wrote: Had this absolutely nuts idea of creating a tycoon-esque game using Minetest
You need to place special air blocks as isolator. Normal air won't do! Use the same that are used for crafting the air sword.Hybrid Dog wrote: it… doesn't work

Looks very fine. I'd love to have that as a schematic (.we or .mts) in order to spawn it in mg_villages. A few more houses so to make up a roman village couldn't hurt either :-)twoelk wrote: Kenney mentioned on IRC that a museum he knew wanted to show some kids the local roman baths. Sadly some major griefing two thousand years ago sort of spoiled the fun, so I thought lets see if minetest can fix that.

A bit of an overcomplicated traffic light controller, LuaC based of course (only one LuaC!):
Even has a built-in menu to adjust various timing options:

This is an "emergency solution" for a nasty, totally corrupted terrain. I installed into an existent world mods that manipulate the mapgen: forest - and later ethereal. (Don’t try this at home!) I flattened it - and then needed only a little bit planning and a bit more endurance.
Versailles is bigger ;)

'deleteblocks'? You encouraged me to try this: it works fine!Hybrid Dog wrote:l think there's a chatcommand to regenerate a mapchunk.
I was in doubt, if it works, when conflicting mapgens are active.
