Re: "rnd's lab" server
The server had a lot of features not found elsewhere. It did extremly well on handling the fighting against mobs, the skill system and the progress of the player. The taking over of chests was IMHO a very bad idea. I had a tree farm close to spawn to help new players a bit. The problem with getting a protection block was another problem. So, certainly, not all was fine. To the contrary. Yet, there where great aspects not found on any other server. The mobs where a threat, they where hard to fight, obtaining materials was difficult - and it was very lag-free. A server with lots of intresting technical aspects.

Re: "rnd's lab" server
+1 Sokomine!
I agree completely.
One thing that would have helped was lowering the required level xp a bit.
I was level 6 one day, and the next I was level 4.
Pretty disappointing.

Re: "rnd's lab" server
Really, dying was affected by a bug imho, you could lost many levels.
Hard way was telling something/ideas to rnd, everytime i suggested something he put a piece of my idea in the hardest way possible.
And sorry for the lag, i think my factory was guilty a bit.

Re: "rnd's lab" server
There was no bug. You lose 10 percent of your experience in all sections, and it said so.
Read what it says at spawn, buddy.

I don't know, i monitored what xp i had before i die and if i had 5000 i would had less than 4000 next spawn, maybe because it spawned me in the same place i died multiple times, 10% less each time...

Re: "rnd's lab" server
For the "Read what it says at spawn, buddy" error, you fixed it wrong, and I was just generally telling you to read what it says at spawn everywhere.
scram off you grammar nazi
Also it had some bugs in respawning.
I respawned for practically 5 weeks straight falling off my old base' ruins.
Pretty annoying.

I've had similar experience.trukoil wrote: Hard way was telling something/ideas to rnd, everytime i suggested something he put a piece of my idea in the hardest way possible.
Did you pick up your bones? AFAIK some xp where stored in there and given back upon retrieving one's bones.trukoil wrote: I don't know, i monitored what xp i had before i die and if i had 5000 i would had less than 4000 next spawn, maybe because it spawned me in the same place i died multiple times, 10% less each time...

Bones were tied to an ABM or globalstep counter that made them disappear every 10 minutes on lava or acid, guess where i died mostly...Sokomine wrote: Did you pick up your bones? AFAIK some xp where stored in there and given back upon retrieving one's bones.
A change i didn't like was made in the last period, there was a limit in depth you can dig tied to your mining level. I used to mine normally at -8000, but i had to mine at -2000 for a while. Even the autodigger from pipeworks was limited by the digging activity in the claimed area, you had to have at least 1000 digs to use it (bad for my cobble fab...)
