Pro Tip: If you want leather, stay outdoors at night and whack bats as they collect on your head.

WARNING: You must have strong armor to do this.

I've asked the dev, and "DIE ON LOGIN" problem is actually client-side, lol *facedesks*.

That means that Zorg and anybody should update to _newest_ client (like this month), or use build older than Sep 26 2015 iirc.

UPDATE!

There is a new spawn to have a staging area before entering the world.
This is to keep traffic down in congested areas,
lessening lag and hopefully new players can not lag out while current spawn is so dense!
After all, it is a huge city!

So, here I am running a fork of your game that does not include your world data. I do the /spawn command and I find myself floating in outer space between the earth and the moon.

Aaack!! Don't do that to a guy. I almost had a coronary. I spent the next five minutes looking for Sandra Bullock. <grin> Didn't find her. <grumph>

Back in your world: Nice spaceship, curious docking. You're gonna replace that divot, right?

Oppsie!

You can edit spawn in the spawn.lua
I was supposed to set to off on the git build.

The "NO RULES" server on port 30003 has the problem that food like "Cooked Chicken" fills the health bar instead of the hunger bar. So after ~30 minutes you will starve, even if you got food. There are also too many aggressive mobs - building something is impossible.

Fixed, and made mobs a bit less in spawning. Tweaked the hp as well.

I've found a huge lake spawned in the sky. 1200, 50, -600. also found few smaller lakes fly in caves, is it world generation bug?

Yes sir.
The big one is mapgen bug. I tried erasing it before but came back after map shrink.
Caves have hanging water and lava.

Can't reproduce it on default minetest game with same seed and mapgen, must be server specific bug.

Hello

I've started getting errors when trying to connect to the server on port 30000 -- it connects, loads item definitions, media, and nodes - but crashes my client when trying to load a water source node... I'm using the latest client from the ubuntu wily ppa

I logged a bug at the minetest github but they're saying it's a mod/server issue - so I can't really do anything with that for further reporting. Is anyone else having this issue?

Maiki - Contact rnd. His basic_machines mod caused this same problem for my client. He fixed it.

No need, it isn't a mod, it is client based problem.
His machines never gave me the error so it must be those dodgy Linux builds. ;-)

Furthermore, I took the time to "update the server" with 4.14. Performance is less and MUCH more max lag now.

I am so tired of patching things to make work better. I would be surprised if asia could log into esm now.

Thanks to your hard work I am back in.. though I get connection timeouts now...... (as expected from your caveats...)

..... must be those dodgy Windows envs ..... ;-)

How much processing/memory do you need to allocate to run this server btw?

Dunno if you can roll back, but if I'm the only one experiencing this and it's degrading the experience for everyone I might not be worth it.....
