I wrote a personal addition to the mod, but there is no public release for that.

You way/ may not know of this, but your mod fixes the crash when using Direct3D9!!!! Usually, when you use Direct, you can't look up without it crashing. But when I used your mod, with no clouds, IT DIDN'T!!! I believe it may have something to do with the fact that it has no sky (except for the earth and sun directly above, which I just saw :D) But anyways, great mod!

benrob made a livestream video featuring this mod (thanks for doing that), which has inspired me to update and improve this. As you know i have been distracted by core dev work.

Now working on this again, many improvements and more to come.
Most noticeable is a spacesuit skin applied to the player when the spacesuit is in inventory.
Terrain has changed slightly and may change further, just a warning for those with existing worlds.

v0.11.0
Big changes, see new screenshots and information in first post.

The mod now uses a customised mgv7 for faster mapgen with no Lua lag, so is more suitable for multiplayer.
The new moon rover leaves a track and jumps when hitting a slope, due to low gravity it can jump fairly high. Beware that acceleration, braking and turning only work when it is in contact with the ground. The rover needs motion in order to turn, to be more realistic.

So you can access this world (like the nether) or it takes over the overworld (normal world)

You need to enable the mod and then start a new world, the entire world will be moon only, this doesn't add a moon realm to a normal world.
Apologies for it still being half-finished. Some stuff works, some doesn't, but driving the rover is fun.

Two years later...

I would appreciate it if the rover was made into a separate mod. I'm working on a mod that adds in planet and moon dimensions, and a rover could be useful for exploration.
