[FIXED] problem with daily ppa

Somehow the daily ppa doesn't work anymore.

Since some time F2 doesn't work correctly. It does the same as F1 with the difference that it says chat shown/hidden (a wrong information). This commit should have fixed it. It was committed on 18th march. But the daily ppa doesn't seem to have it.
(It's not the only commit. Also fine pointed isn't yet there.)
So, there's something wrong with minetest engine. I think, minetest_game is not that problematically I have to look more about it. Today or tomorrow I could perhaps receive a minetest update (the last days there was nothing but there were commits to minetest engine) because of the recent merges in minetest_game. Edit: Look next comment.

(I'm totally sure I have the right ppa.)
To update I use the software updater.
I'm using linux lubuntu xenial.

Ok, today I could update Minetest again. It were only 7.3 MB (normally it's more). F2 still doesn't work and if I place a stair, the game shuts down because of the missing fine_pointed.
=> It's clear now, that minetest_game is still updated but not the engine.

Link to the PPA you are using ? (confirm we are all on the same page)

Variant of Ubuntu you are using? (and what version etc)

Result of apt-get install minetest ? (maybe you are not spotting an error ?)

Why not simply build from source ? (not sure who maintains the PPA and with what level of commitment...)

I noticed the same issues. F2 doesn't work as expected and so on. That's why I use a self compiled copy

I've had the same problem for some time. I've actually tilled back my desktop to the latest stable to resolve it. My laptop I don't use for videos so turning chat off isn't a big deal to me. I expect I'll be setting up my desktop to build automatically for me as the chat bug is annoying.

The chat disabling bug is not the real problem, it's just a good indicator.

The problem is that nerzhul is doing signed git commits to the master branch. Take a look at the last commit on CONTRIBUTING.md. My solution: PM nerzhul or say on IRC to please not sign commits, it is breaking the ppas.

I started to work on daily package build for debian based distros (Debian 8/9, Ubuntu 14.04 16.04 16.10 17.04)

Please look at : https://gitlab.com/minetest/minetest/builds if you want, please note package is named minetest-staging because it's not a stable version, it's master + minetest_game master.

If you goal is to test a build every day you can use this as an alternative
