You have to have the zoom privilege to zoom. This is annoying. Make it so that you do not have to have the zoom privilege to zoom.

Make sure you have the zoom privilege. (If you don't know, then type /grantme zoom in chat), then press Z

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
To manage players you now have /remove_player <playername> which will cleanup the player data (not authentication), for files, the file, for database, all underlying data (and it's suggested to use this instead of sqlite3 cli client because by default foreign keys are not enabled and data will be inconsistent for deleted player)Beerholder wrote:Very nice! :D Probably needs a bit of documentation how to manage players e.g. from command line as some admins do things like purging old player files. Maybe even create a couple of scripts for the various backends? Just checked myself using the sqlite client and looks pretty straight forward, but it might not be for everyone...nrz wrote:Player data can now be into database. This is an important change, players to files are always supported but deprecated. Files backend for players will be removed in a future release. See http://wiki.minetest.net/Database_backends for compat matrix and migration steps.[/list]

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
I heard that coral was added to the game, and that if you mine it in any way, you'll always get dead, white coral,Also that coral is unrenewable. In real life, coral reproduces by releasing coral polyp egg thingies(nailed it! Lol) durring a certain moon phase(I think it was full moon,I'll have to research again) in the spring months. Can MineTest development make it to that at night, alive coral blocks will start to emit pinkish dot particles(that what the polyp egg thingies look like),and after some time,it'll grow other corals of the same color as the original coral around it,similar to grass, flower, and mushroom spreading mechanics? Or maybe when you mine coral, you'll sometimes get coral polyp egg items in your inventory, that can be placed in water to start growing a coral block. Also can there be a few more coral color variants like red, purple, pink, blue, and yellow? Also can cobblestone be a block that can generate in shallow parts of the oceans, because how when exposed to water, they'll turn into mossy cobblestone blocks, similar to how algea will eventually grow on rocky surfaces that are in,or near water(though people say that cobblestone is an "ugly" block,so maybe add a mossy smoothstone block for that terrain purpose then?). Also sorry for the long suggestion... I get carried away with that a lot.

We could always drop the moon phases part, the same way we dropped trying to figure out where Sam keeps his stuff. No sarcasm.

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
I'd like to suggest a feature for CSM, being able to get the current subgame and/or the subgame of a specific mod. Return subgame_internal_name if playing on said subgame or if the mod is in the subgame_internal_name/mods folder, or nil if it's just in the subgame-independent mods folder.

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
Just a curious question - is it easier to write "Just read the first post." than "4th June"?

I think that's what modders do, I think default strings are for the most part human-readable.Sergey wrote:Will itemstrings be fixed to be human-readable like?Code: Select all

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
I noticed that tin ore has been added to Minetest Game. After all those years, another ore! Nice.
But I wonder what is it good for / what it is supposed to be good for. Just for crafting bronze and the obligatory tin block? Or will there be more uses?

Re: Minetest 0.4.16 release teasing
It seems month ot two will pass since 4th June when this release appear in Manjaro repos.
So, I will have to wait for a quite long time.
