Yes, there are 2 of her. She already said so. One's Nemo, and one's sorcerykid.ABJ wrote:Are there two of you?

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
SK, I suggest you implement a player self-delete feature. So I could restart from my botched attempts.

Really? Which server?ABJ wrote:Are there two of you?

I only play on JT2, just test, Cash's World, ESM, Must Test, and Xanadu. If you see my username anywhere else, it is not me.

Well, that was one time. Once in history is not very often IMHO.BBmine wrote:I think he's talking about the time you got upset with JT and quit.

Baggins I'm talking about this calendar year, not one time in 2016 :PU did play on 2 of my servers once. Are you saying that's not you? o.O
From the sound of it, someone else must be playing as "sorcerykid" on another server. I haven't seen ABJ on any of the servers that I frequent.

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
Carts have been upgraded to the latest version from minetest_game, so they should be more stable.
I've aliased the rails and updated the model and texture, so everything should continue to work, just with a fresh new look and feel. I did keep the former cart sound, as cheesy as it was. But I reduced the gain.
I tested this mod extensively on my test server, and it performed adequately. There was some movement glitching, but no more crashes thankfully. Please keep your eyes peeled for any other problems. Have fun riding!

#unintendedeffect I rarely play on any servers. I just see you ranting on the forums about how the devs are
Also, where did my post about a player self-delete go?

I forgot. Also, just for the screams, in my original post I stated that you were ranting about how the devs were terrorists.

Congratulations SerVesta on a job well done. I remember when you first showed this project to me, it was only half way complete. Thank you for your outstanding contributions!RealSerVesta wrote:The most expensive "pixel art" figure I could have made as a project on the JT2 server <3

There are a lot of talented builders on JT2. I'd really like to start spotlighting some of their creations in this thread, as they deserve more recognition for their hard work. I'll try to post at least one or two a week from now on!

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
The monthly renders of maps on the website (the table with one miniature for every month in 2017) all show recent map. I can tell by the look of my possession and other buildings on Valley Road, Arisha's park, Dreams' possession and spawn, for instance. The miniatures look fine but when I click on them they all show the same map that is also identical to the one under "Daily map rendering" link. Those are all different files though, looks like whatever script/program you use for the daily rendering overwrites them all.
You might want to update the opening post of this thread. It misses a link to the website and some of the information is outdated.

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
Whoops sorry, I was annotating the images with ImageMagick and forgot to change the source files. The renderings should be correct now.

SK, how long does it take for a player to get deleted?

Player accounts themselves are never deleted, only disabled after a certain extended period of inactivity.

Re: [Server] Just Test Tribute
PoloPro6957 recently asked me to transfer all of his chests, doors, trapdoors, mailboxes to his new player account "pixelos". I thought this would be a simple automation task, only to discover that LBMs are wholly unreliable way to perform these types of updates on a large scale. Based on my tests, half of the time they cease to even execute.
Incidentally, someone else reported a similar problem on GitHub. So this doesn't appear to be an isolated incident:
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/4050
Code: Select all
minetest.register_lbm( {
name = "default:ownership_redo4a",
nodenames = { "default:chest_locked", "protector:protect", "protector:protect2", "mailbox:mailbox" },
action = function( pos, node )
local infotext
local meta = minetest.get_meta( pos )
local owner_old = "test"
local owner_new = "pixelos"
if node.name == "default:chest_locked" then
infotext = "Locked Chest (owned by %s)"
elseif node.name == "protector:protect" or node.name == "protector:protect2" then
infotext = "Protection (owned by %s)"
elseif node.name == "mailbox:mailbox" then
infotext = "%s's Mailbox"
end
if meta:get_string( "owner" ) == owner_old then
minetest.log( "action", "Executing LBM on node " .. node.name .. " at " .. minetest.pos_to_string( pos ) )
meta:set_string( "infotext", string.format( infotext, owner_new ) )
meta:set_string( "owner", owner_new )
end
end,
} )
minetest.register_lbm( {
name = "default:ownership_redo4b",
nodenames = { "doors:trapdoor_steel", "doors:trapdoor_steel_open", "doors:door_steel_a", "doors:door_steel_b" },
action = function( pos, node )
local meta = minetest.get_meta( pos )
local infotext = "Owned by %s"
local owner_old = "test"
local owner_new = "pixelos"
if meta:get_string( "doors_owner" ) == owner_old then
minetest.log( "action", "Executing LBM on node " .. node.name .. " at " .. minetest.pos_to_string( pos ) )
meta:set_string( "infotext", string.format( infotext, owner_new ) )
meta:set_string( "doors_owner", owner_new )
end
end,
} )
https://github.com/minetest/minetest/issues/4050
The moral of the story: Use one account for building and stick to it. If you change your mind later, then I doubt I'll be able to help you.The takeaway is that modders can't rely on LBMs to properly convert their old nodes, because LBMs are, currently, broken. Not simply buggy, but (effectively) completely broken, since it is not doing what the whole purpose of its design is to do.
