Inventory Items Animations?

by christoferlevich » Post

Why is it off by default? If I have good client machines, can I turn this on and have a lil' bling in the ui or will it hurt the server somehow?

Nope, it's client side only so doesn't affect the server. It's off by default as we believe that more people wouldn't want it than want it

Because it is distracting and doesn't look that good - even to the devs. :D

I actually like the way it looks - but I am weird like that. I was an 'mac' guy till two years ago. Visual bling still catches my eye. lol

So I started using the animated icons back in December and no one noticed, until this last week when I watched it pop around one of the gaming tables. Its become all the rage with my students as they want to see everything they can - rotating... Kids are hilarious. I told them it had been doing that since December, but I don't think they believe me. Its surely a flash in the pan and they will tire of it, but initially, its fun!

The problem was not solved, which the developers can not fix. You have to close minetest and then open and open some world and you have the items animations.

Yes. They didn't notice because they were playing. Lol. They finally noticed because of one student that finally caught it.
