Re: Post your blueprints!
The Great Wall of Minetest is a 3,968 meter long military stronghold on the Must Test survival server consisting of 16 guard towers (GT), 4 watch towers (WT), 4 gatehouses (GH), 1 pass tower (PT), and 1 castle fortress (CF). As depicted by the site plan below, the entire fortification is aligned to a grid of 64 meters (as an homage to Minetest's base-16 mapblock storage) and the garrisons are spaced at intervals of either 128 meters or 192 meters.
Site Plan
Wall Detail
The watch towers and guard towers serve as lookout posts and living quarters for soldiers. They consist of three levels including an observation platform, with barracks and armory directly below. Ground-level access and additional food and weapons storage is also provided in the watch towers.
Guard Tower Detail
Watch Tower Detail
The gatehouses are situated along the four outbound roadways and serve to control the flow of traffic across the border of the fortified settlement. They can also double as a temporary military command outpost or storehouse for battle supplies.
Gatehouse Detail
Groundbreaking of the Great Wall took place on October 11 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017. This is arguably one of the largest single construction projects I have ever undertaken in Minetest.

Not really the right place for this in my opinion. Though other community members may outvote me.

@zargulthewizard : Yeah, I used an Image as blueprint, but isn't that also a "blueprint" ?

No, 'cause it's not blue.LMD wrote:@zargulthewizard : Yeah, I used an Image as blueprint, but isn't that also a "blueprint" ?
Seriously. This is not a blueprint because it doesn't depict exactly how to build something on a 2D representation plane. It's just a photograph of a structure that happens to be 2D or the painting it was modeled after (depending on what image you are referring to).
May God be with you, always.

It's a blueprint for some texture.zargulthewizard wrote:What is this a blueprint for?
I think I accidentally made an optical illusion image, this doesn't look horizontally straight to me:

Strangely the illusion stops working when you rotate the image by 90 degrees.

Re: Post your blueprints!
Sorry, but you are wrong here. Using my Schematic Creator and the wool.anl file coming with it(for the 1st schematic) or my Colorful Library(for the 2nd schematic), you can exactly achieve the same result.zargulthewizard wrote:No, 'cause it's not blue.LMD wrote:@zargulthewizard : Yeah, I used an Image as blueprint, but isn't that also a "blueprint" ?

*rallying*
Okay, new definition. A blueprint is a two-dimensional construction-friendly depiction of a structure. I am going to try and say that a gigantic painting with no functional purpose aside from emotional and mental responses does not count as that kind of structure.

Re: Post your blueprints!
I don't know what that means (I'm hoping it means Linuxdirk likes it), but I think I finally have the answer.
The painting was not designed to instruct anyone on how to build anything.
Your replication posted here might be, but it is essentially identical to the original and thus is not considered original itself.
I need to check the definition of a blueprint in a dictionary,

Re: Post your blueprints!
The initial positing might indicate that images as such are also welcome. I first thought the topic was about floor plans as such. Hope I got that word right; in German, it would be called "Grundriß" (2d drawings of a 3d building, horizontal cut through one floor showing where the walls, doors and windows ought to be). Most postings seem to be broader than that. Regarding the mod that prints images in the game - I think the original imapge (jpeg file or whatever it was) might be considered the "blueprint". It's still 2d though. Probably better suited for a post-your-pixelarts-thread. Or for the thread that introduces the mod as such.
A list of my mods can be found here.

Re: Post your blueprints!
I believe in the U.S., blueprints are generally limited to schematics such as a) floor plans, b) elevations, or c) site plans. However, it can also apply to cross sections, projections, and related diagrams required in structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering
I took a drafting class in high school, and I never heard of anyone broadly referring to a blueprint as anything beyond a technical drawing. Perhaps in other parts of the world it has a broader meaning.

Re: Post your blueprints!
There is nothing wrong with anyone's screen. I am using a near-new tablet, and it didn't look straight at first to me. The illusion is weak, but it is there for some brain configurations. I will point out that you obviously got illusioned into thinking that they were squares.azekill_DIABLO wrote:i think you have a problem with your screen. looks all fine to me :DHybrid Dog wrote: I think I accidentally made an optical illusion image, this doesn't look horizontally straight to me:

By the way, why is it so large?

Re: Post your blueprints!
And what does it represent?
(also, if you go closer from the screen the illusion will work better. i see it now.)

I think he said it's just a texture for whatever, but I don't care to check earlier posts.

Re: Post your blueprints!
Hadn't seen anyone using the Minetest textures directly in their blueprints, but it's pretty easy to set up with TileD. Open source crossovers ftw!
