What is it? Looks very impressive, although not suitable for dwelling I suppose :) (Too large space to dust and there seems to be unsecured hole in the floor.) I wonder how the building looks from outside, but the architectural design is nice to speak the least. (I suppose however that it is built inside the cave, am I right?)

voxelproof wrote:By changing scale and spread in mgv5_np_height parameter in map_meta.txt in the world folder I've obtained an interesting modification of map generator v5. The result is a very pleasant terrain with not very high, yet prominent rocky hills with sometimes very natural outlines (apart floating rocky potatoes that occasionally occur which are a side product of this modification), assembled into nice chains and also quite enticing shoreline with very realistic promontories. The general ambience is resembling some south african landscapes; high vertical cliffs are hardly to be found, even higher hills are usually easily accessible and dangerous deep pits are very rare (if there're at all - I've not spotted any yet). It makes it definitely more pleasurable for walking than the default v5, much more relaxing and I believe also much more suitable for creative or server gameplay due to the easily passable terrain and greater variety of its formations.

Hi, thanks for this information.
Is it possible to integrate this code line in map_meta.txt after the world is created ?
Yes, this is how it works. First you declare a new world in the main menu and before opening it you modify the map_meta.txt.
The demerit of this modification is quite common occurrence of sometimes quite huge floating rocky bubbles. The quality of terrain depends on the part of the world and the seed.

Minetest world generated from real geographical data, with my new mod Geo Mapgen.
1 node = 2 km horizontally and 200 m vertically. Land cover is respected too.
France
Réunion and Madagascar
India and Himalaya
Just realize how bored we would be if the world was perfect.

This week will bring temperatures below -20C. Plenty of snow and frigid northern wind is already here. The stove is red hot so now I can start Minetest and teleport to the south.
