Hi, just a suggestion.
I believe that adding an option to make textures not cache-able on the client is an easy to implement feature: download the texture and keep it until the game is closed or possibly the server sends a specific request for clients to prune the cached texture. This will allow textures files to change during execution.
Possible use case is universal off-server skin system.
This leads to a possible long-term goal: in-game asset downloading and even possibly in-game mod loading.
