They're not that different. Those are just weird spots. However, I don't use any 3d noise.

Calculating formspec element positions is now a breeze with the latest version of Scarlet. The in-game calculator automatically converts between multiple units of measurement and provides several preset variables to account for standard form-padding, slot-spacing, and button height. No more second-guessing the "black magic" algorithm :)

Image

I'm also developing a command-line script that will accept the same arithmetic expressions and print the results to the standard out. So there will be multiple ways to get your formspec fix!

Ceilings, floors, cave biomes, the many newer color options. New to me, anyway.

Here's a test game that enables both exploration of lib_ecology / lib_materials, as well as some minor game playability. Includes some mobs, weapons, balloons, dungeons.

Must see and experience. Forgive the zip, there is alot to otherwise try to dl at the moment. There are bugs. You will also need to unzip the two tarballs in the /game/mods/ folder. They include all the relevant mods.

Download the Dev game that makes this possible, here.

Basically. : )

I've been building mapgens for years, but I ended up wanting something very similar to the one that already existed.

This is what we currently have with Minetest formspecs: Notice the lack of alignment, even though all elements are positioned at even intervals (2 horizontal, 2 vertical) and have the same dimensions (2 wide x 2 tall):

Here is that exact same formspec with a fully consistent layout by running through the Scarlet preprocessor:

Note: Elements that have been remapped internally by Scarlet are indicated by italics.

New Public mine at VanessaE's Survival Server's new spawn.
Mostly just for decor. The only functional part is the wooden tower at the base of the picture.
Go South from Spawn on Brass Rd. then turn at the second left. It is a few properties down on the left.
