So it's not just the player that needs to bounce against it but also blocks like TNT.

Hey, I've been playing MineClone 2 for a couple of weeks now, and I've been having a blast, so I decided that I wanted to make a contribution to the project (since I figured it'd be trivial). I added an alternate model and an option for skins to allow the use of skins with 3px wide arms (like the Alex skin/model in Minecraft). I'm not sure if it's a feature you planned on adding (not familiar with Minecraft's version numbers), but if you're interested, I do have a zip with only the added/altered files that I can send over. Normally I'd make a pull request, but I'm not as familiar with the repo site you're using with the project (I've only used Github and Gitlab in the past)

Is it possible to deactivate the weather? I could play until a thunderstorm started. Now the game is lagging like hell.

Not completely, but you can change the weather:
/weather clear
or
/toggledownfall

Actually, you can disable the weather completely by a setting. You find it in the advanced settings. The technical setting name (for minetest.conf and /set) is “mcl_doWeatherCycle”. If you disable it, the weather will stay.

I don't know about using another one's rain implementation … I still need thunderstorms.

But probably the weather code needs a complete rework anyway. A lot of things are ineffficient, sadly.

Just a quick question. Is it possible to set how long loose items stay on the ground? Been playing a game with my family and been frustrating as if you get killed it seems even if you run straight to where you were the items disappear before you can reclaim them. One instance I could see the dropped items but they vanished just before I got in range. Latest Minetest build and Mineclone2 installed via the inbuilt modules installer.

Also is there a definitive list of the parameters you can set in game with the /set command?

for this reason, i have made a cracked version of the Minetest-Bone-Mod for MC2 ... i am welcome with to seeing anythink like this into the original MC2 ;)

Yes. It's a Minetest setting: item_entity_ttl. Value is time-to-live in seconds.

Yes. A list of all settings be found in the Minetest settings menu, with description and everything. Make sure to tick on the box “Show technical names” to learn what to use as name for “/set”. MCL2-specific settings are under All settings → Games → MineClone 2.

The settings you set with “/set” and the settings you set in the settings menu are the same.

Sounds useful. But I would drop the IDs you derived from the MCL2 itemstrings, like redsandstonesmooth2.

Hey guys,
I've been playing this game for about a week now and am loving it! However, I have one question: why does the obsidian look so weird? It looks more like stone than obsidian; Minecraft and Minetest (Game) have much more black obsidian. Please fix this.

I just didn't bother to replace the images yet. It's tedious work but it needs to be done.
