LinuxWorks Server (port 30000 at linux-forks.de) has tons of railway. You can find them at the server Wiki.
Here's some of them on the server (mainly related to Crossroads, as I am currently working on trains there).

Also, I really don't recommend using only one track for the line unless it's a loop line (in my photo). With double tracks and interlocking (or LuaATC) it is possible to have multiple trains on the same line.

Unfortunately, train doors can't open on both sides at the same time. One of your platforms is useless. I would recommend replacing that unused platform with a banner showing the station name or something like that.

I know that. Its just the slightly imperfect symmetry would bother me. :p

Ok, but if you can have two train lines there you can actually use the other platform and keep it's look. At least you can consider placing another track at that platform even if you have no train running there (yet). Anyway, I would still recomming looking at the trains at the LinuxWorks Server. They have some nice train lines.
Yes, for single curves the maximum angle is somewhere around 30° (26.56° to be precise, which is arctan(1/2) ). But tracks exist in rotated forms of 0°, 30°, 45° and 60°.

However I suppose that it is not possible to connect 'straight' track with the one rotated by 45°? (Forgive me a newbe question, I haven't used your mod yet albeit I find it one of the reasons of my lasting interest in Minetest).
EDIT Ok, I've looked into the manual and now everything clarified (I misunderstood your pretty obvious explanation). Great work by the way, thank you :)
