The file “mod.conf” MUST NOT be changed! It is the wrong file.
The real setting must be set in your global minetest.conf in your Minetest directory.

Exchanging machine
Can you add exhanging machine to your mod or fix vending machine, that it can to change currency in every vending machine?
Why?
Some players don't want gold, but want other stuff and they don't make shops because it.
Some stuff is too expensive, but maximum price is 3069, and it's not possible to change expensive stuff for other expensive stuff.

Maybe, when I feel like it. I don't know when that will be the case.

Would it be hard to make it so that people with admin privs can also make a vending machine have unlimited supply? With a checkbox in the config form maybe?
This would be quite useful for me. I'm admin on a server with lots of (small-ish) children. And as imho building and finding stuff is more rewarding if you first have to source the raw materials I prefer to not use creative mode.
However, to have the 'best of both worlds' it would be nice to have certain much needed stuff (brick blocks, for example) easily available in a vending machine.
I currently use the vending machines as they are, but it is a pain to have to log in to re-fill the machines each day :-)
I could have a look at implementing it myself, but I'm still a bit stumped by formspecs :-)

I don't think it would be hard, it's just work. Currently, I am not planning to release updates to this mod, I consider it finished. You know, I have a ton of other projects, so I have to set priorities. :-) And this mod is not a priority.
