You don't need a helicopter to get up to mgv7's mountain peaks, but it helps and is quite fun:

The water should perhaps be red. From where does it acquire its blue, for example? Certainly not the blue sky ;D

The exoplanet I have created is my own original idea. I did not mean to copy anyone else.

The water could be a little reddish, but it should still be water. Maybe it could have red bacteria?

Yeah... it's more important that fonts are legible. I'll take boring, any day.Wuzzy wrote:Boring default font:

My sentiments exactly.duane wrote:Yeah... it's more important that fonts are legible. I'll take boring, any day.Wuzzy wrote:Boring default font:
The water should be redder, not blue at all. Water isn't blue normally, but it often reflects the sky. Sea water is greener because of the plant life (seaweed, plankton, etc) in it. If you get a cup of water, the water will be clear, which is the actual color of water.Red_King_Cyclops wrote:Does this planet look alien enough?

Besides the water, I think that the trees don't really fit in. If this is a red dwarf star, there isn't nearly as much light and probably less heat, so tall plants don't seem very likely. If you do have tall trees, they probably shouldn't look like pine trees.
I really like the atmosphere, though. It really helps the feeling.

Re: Post your screenshots!
I hesitate to nitpick, but deep water looks blue because red light is absorbed about a hundred times more than blue light as it passes through water. Water's surface can reflect whatever color is around, but even without that, the light that penetrates the surface will lose its red component and any reflected back from suspended material or the bottom will appear blue.
This is why many deep-sea fish have red coloration. From any distance, the red is filtered out, and they look black, hiding them from predators.
Water under red light will relect the red to some degree, but where there are no reflections, it will look black, because there isn't much light penetrating the surface (or maybe really dark red, or really dark blue if the red light isn't very pure). This means that any sea life will have to stick to the shallows or find some other energy source (even more so than on earth).
