This is by no means official or authoritative, since it's Stu's mod, and I make no guarantees about workability or fitness for any purpose :-) but it seems to work okay on the server I use it on.

I do plan a major overhaul of both this and my 'shooter' mod once MT 5.0.0 is finally released!

Version Update: 0.4.13

  • Offset armor model for minetest 5.0.0
  • Add settingtypes.txt and README fixes by @AntumDeluge
  • Formatting and texture fixes by @Terumoc
  • Spanish locale added by @runsy
  • New armorstand place-holder textures by @LoneWolfHT
  • Clean-up locales and add Russian locale by @codexp
  • Show fire protection level by @tenplus1

There is still much more to be done to take advantage of the latest MT 5.0.0 features, this is really just an interim release to correct the player model position.

Could you add a damage group for attacks that penetrate armor?
Magic, rapiers, and electrical damage could all make use of this, just to name a few.

I used that API to add some christmas armor for my server a week or two ago. Here is an example of how to add your own armor:

Thanks for that code, but now I need an other thing with it.

I also made a tool (not as armor) and that tool needs to check (when you right click) of you wear that Chestplate and then do something

There is a critical bug in this mod, it manifests itself in MT 5.1.0.

The player loses the “immortal” group when this mod is used. This is bad because the player is now able to die if damage is enabled.

HI stu,
I downloaded the mod from contentDB but when I try to start it in the world I get this error message:

ModError: Unresolved name conflicts for mods "wieldview", "3d_armor_ui", "3d_armor_sfinv", "3d_armor", "3d_armor_ip".

What's wrong? I put in my own texture and rewritten the armor.lua script so that I only have my armor (then the mod works) but on the private server on which I want to use it is the real 3d armor mod already installed

(VERSION 5.1.1)

Sooo I've found a bug with high level/heal armor (e.g. diamond).
When falling from great highs absolutely no damage is dealt unless you fall in liquids.
So far I've tested this on Minetest version 5.1.1 and will soon test it on older versions too.

Armor "level" decreases damage intake... Only if the player is attacked though... Falling, drowning and DPS blocks dosen't count...

But heal does work with any kind of damage...
