Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
I think it would be best to just dig and replace those few nodes, lest I have to add even more aliases and LBM conversions...

Important update: due to updates to its API, if you have signs_lib installed, you must update it to commit 4ff54c9a or later, otherwise you will get crashes as Home Decor tries to use some of its new API functions.

Unfortunately, no. I had hoped TenPlus1 would adapt it to use his skins mod as the backend, so that it could just present as many skins as are available, in multiple pages. Pull requests welcome. :-)

Ah, HDX user. :-)
You need to update your copy of the texture pack. Models for the doors had to change to work with minetest_game's doors mod not long ago (i.e. so that I could use its API instead of custom code), and when they changed, I had to rework their textures too.

Hi Vanessa.....
1. Thanks for everything! All your mods are a big part of Minetest.....
2. Why when I try to download (for example) this Home Decor, the link send me to one gitlab/login page?
3. Doors, wardrobe and other things they have become "unknown objects".... how I fix this problem?
thanks again for all (thanks also by my kids....)
cheers

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
You should not need to log into gitlab to download the mod. If that happens again, try cloning it instead, or you can get it from the in-game mod store/library ("contentdb" as we call it), that's usually up-to-date.
If stuff is missing after an update, you probably just need to enable the whole modpack again, as a lot of stuff got rearranged not that long ago in what I've come to call "The Big Split". Don't forget to install Home Decor's dependencies like currency, basic_materials, unified_dyes, etc.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
it happens because the download link in the first post is truncated ;-) Maybe because of the forum update ?
And users who don't know git ui may be a bit lost i think ^^

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Hi,
thanks for fix the link... but other links have same problems: unified dyes and unified inventory for example.... I don't like to use the mods manager present on MT:
I don't know if this manager install all the dipendences of the mods;
I don't understand why the Unified Inventory that is installed with the manager is not the Unified Inventory that I know...
I prefer to download them every time...
in any case, thank you for your support
cheers

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Ok, those are working now.
Can you please compile a list of mod posts that need fixed, when you get a chance? Forum links are best; mine or other peoples' mods, I'll update them as best I can.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
There is currently a bug in the dev version of the Creative mod, so I tried deleting it and discovered that Home Decor depends on it. How does Home Decor use the Creative mod? I almost never play in Creative mode and don't see the connection.
-- not that he dependency is practically important since Creative is part of the standard minetest_game.

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Hi,
the two links that I found that doesn't work are the unified dyes and unified inventory.... both send me to the minetest forum sign in page...
thanks Vanessa..... thanks for all!

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Well the git links are fixed anyway, Codesound. I can't do anything about forum topics linking from one topic to another, without links to the pages you saw them broken on. There are simply too many forum posts to hunt through. :-)
Merak, they depend on creative in order to check if that mode is enabled, so that certain functions can change behavior. For example, if I remember right, the beer taps checks for creative to decide how to exchange one empty beer mug for a full one, i.e. giving/taking the empty and full mugs (really, it's so that the exchange is always proper in survival mode).
Other than that check being done, the creative component of minetest_game is completely inert if you're in survival mode.

When I search unifieddyes I do not get any results.
When I search unifieddyes I get no result and I downloaded everything and named them what they are supposed to be named but once I got configure in my game I do not get only + Minetest Game Mods. Am I doing something wrong? I don't understand since I am a new player.

Thank you so much! You are a life saver. :)
Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
Hi Vanessa,
I noticed an issue with the MTG doors (see screenshot*), especially if you use a custom texture pack.
The closed door is composed of a 3D model on its top, the open one has no more.
It's possible that you used the MTG Doors API when the top parts were composed of a 3D model? but currently, it's not the case anymore (5.3.0) because when I disable the mod, nothing happens, the doors don't have 3D top parts.
Maybe you are aware of this issue or maybe I'm failed in something?
However I'll add a positive note, I really appreciate your mods and I've rarely had a problem with them. Regarding this one, it's a minor problem, despite that it forces you to redo the MTG doors textures, in the same way you adapted the ones of your HDX texture pack.

Porte ouverte = Open door

Re: [Modpack] Home Decor [git] [homedecor_modpack]
I'm not sure what's going on there... If you disable the "homedecor_3d_extras" component, does the problem go away? That component activates a flag that turns on 3d doors, so the pictured one should just become a normal flat door again without it.
Pull requests with fixes are welcome. :-)

Thank you for your prompt response. (-:VanessaE wrote:I'm not sure what's going on there... If you disable the "homedecor_3d_extras" component, does the problem go away? Indeed, as soon as I disable the mod homedecor_3d_extras, the problem is gone, the only "negative" effect is that it also disables the custom items of the mod vessels and 3D bookshelf.
It's not a big deal if it avoids reworking the textures of MTG's doors and trapdoors and I'm not very good at coding anyway. ^^
Thx again,
Onyx
