[Mod]Baked Clay Addition[1.1][bakedclayaddition]

by LC Creations » Post

Description: Adds more baked clay colors to Minetest. Inspired by the bakedclay mod.

Screenshot
Image
This image shows 64 variations of each color. This setting can be changed in '_config.txt'.

Information:
  • Adds baked clay of several variations (shades) of 19 different colors.
  • Has a '_config.txt' file with settings.
  • Users can set the amount of variations for each color.
  • There can be 9, 16, 25, 64, 81, 144, 256, or 289 variations of each color.
  • Does not have crafts. This would take an outrageous amount of work.
Minetest Version: 5.3.0.
Not yet compatible with Minetest 5.4.0.

Mod Version: 1.1

Dependencies: colorizer, default, dye

Colorizer Mod Requirement:
This mod requires another mod called [colorizer] which is not yet posted on the forums. It can be found on my github or by clicking this link. My [colorizer] mod requires [basic_materials].

Neat mod. Should be useful for in-game pixel art.

Looks like the mod registers a new node for each color? That's a bit much. I think hardware coloring would be a better solution here.

Yes I know hardware coloring exists. I want each item to be in the inventory which cannot happen with hardware coloring. Also, the way these items would need to be colored with harware coloring would require an hsv code. I have experimented with MANY lua hsv functions. NONE of them fully work properly. I have tried creating my own and it still does not work. This mod uses the overlaying of images which archives exactly what I want.

Nice. But, your version does not have stiars and slabs, becuase it uses hardware coloring. Regardless, it still only has 361 colors only. My mod can register up to over 280 nodes per 19 colors. That is 280*19. Even at it's default setting it still registers more colors. I was looking for a way to use harware coloring but then stairs and slabs cannot be registered.

A little too many nodes for my liking, why not simply create a 'Pixel Art' mod that has blocks for each colour and use hardware colouring option to reduce the sheer number added, this saves on two new glass and clay mods.

I did not use hardware coloring becuase it does not support the amount of colors I want to register, and do stairs and slabs at once. However, both this mod and my glassaddition mod, give people the option to register less blocks by editing the _config.txt file in the mod, if you want less nodes. You can do as less as 9 shades per 19 colors. That is, 19*9.

Great, another colored nodes mod which even is configurable! But my favorite is still Sokomine's plasterwork. (It uses hardware coloring and for my purposes it has enough colors)
Can your read this?
