Thank you! And your artful screenshot bears a nice likeness to the early cubistic paintings.
I won't wish you merry Christmas not only because wishes of health are much more appropriate in the present situation, but because they can't be merry anymore for much too many people.
In case Santa wouldn't give you a gift, there's a simple explanation here. Santa won't make his traditional tour because Red Nose the Reindeer is dead.

Re: Post your screenshots!
For the reasons many of you may easily figure out I have to spend this Xmas alone. I wholeheartedly wish all of You all the best and perfect health and I want to say - once again and hopefully not the last - simple thanks to Developers who provided this simple yet awesome escape from the ordeals of ultimately - to be honest - unescapable reality.

@Voxelproof,
Best of health to ya! Keep yer chin up!
An earth-like voronoi based map. This is 600x600, so entire world scaled at 0.01. Note the general distribution of deserts, rainforests, continents, oceans, and polar ice caps. Still tweaking some of this for even more "realism".
Same map, scaled at 0.1, so 6000x6000. This view, and the one below, would be looking south-east. The general vicinity would be northern Iran, Caspian Sea area, looking southeast across the African continent. Still tweaking voronoi cell placement for more accurate landforms.
This one differs from above by applying dokimi's mg_tectonic logic to voronoi cells that define continents. Mountains taper towards the edges of the cells. Still tweaking height values, because mountains must scale correctly, according to the map scale.
This is in the GAL project I posted about. The most recent updates will include approximate earthlike climates, an update to the embedded voronoi library that enables loading/saving additional voronoi point sets, as well as edge, vertex, and neighbor data.

Re: Post your screenshots!
A screenshot from a long-abandoned mapgen mod I made, where there were no 'dirt with grass' nodes, but rather 'grass' nodes that were either plantlike or a carpet-like layer
Working on bloodmagic 2, this is a flesh vine plant that grew naturally. the tendrils grow based on an AMB with a random chance of spawning more tendrils adjacent to them, and when they place another tendril they in turn become thicker themselves, creating a realistic root system.
When you beak the node at the centre all the tendrils die and become dark

The only other one I can remember is that it generated cliffs that actually looked like cliffs, and there was no 'impossible' terrain.voxelproof wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 04:29Amazing Grass. I wonder what other features might have had this lost pearl of Minetest :)
I abandoned it because notepad++ crashed an corrupted everything except my textures.

Haha, you won't believe but I got a very similar experience, twice; once I luckily had a backup of a very large and important file, however the second time some less substantial file in a txt - equivalent format got corupted irrecovarably. Apparently .txt isn't a format in which top importance data should be stored.
And if you use cut - paste operations under Win be sure never to cancel it in the mid-way - you may also lost all the cut files, at least in Win 8.1. (Experienced it three times).

I can almost sense the smell of redolent pine and oak woods full of herbs of late summer. Oh no, not 'almost': I actually can sometimes experience this sort of synaesthesia in so-called 'deep immersion'. (First account of this phenomenon gave James Joyce. Or Marcel Proust. Whatever.)

Re: Post your screenshots!
One of my very first managers taught me the importance of not using Windows "cut". Working in Pagemaker files that contained directory listings on the order of hundreds of thousands of entries. Instead, the manager taught me to copy/paste, and then delete "cut" copy manually. Such simple, and annoying, advice. This gem of wisdom has been one of the reasons for my very successful career.
Vertical biome blending based on heat/humidity values removes the straight horizontal lines found at vertically stacked biome edges. Notice the snow lines on the mountains in the bottom image. High on one side, low on the other.

Re: Post your screenshots!
Grasshut villages finally added to my lib_towns mod. So many more schematics to update to make upwards of 15 to 20 different themed village types. This would include mesoamerican, nomadic, tribal, egyptian, middle eastern, arabic, indian, and at least three european architectural styles. Would really like some east asian building schematics.
1/10th scale. This would be streched over 17km, if at 1:1 scale. Mountains of up to 500 meters in height. Villages placed according to biome and, coordinates or voronoi cell, if chosen.
