I'm not sure if it's intentional vandalism or just mistakes(EDIT: it is vandalism), but a Weblate user, @TPImage, is damaging the Chinese translation by filling translations that are wrong or not even making sense. I don't know what to do and I'm tired to death of taking back what he had done.
I could understand it when a non-native speaker makes grammatical errors when attempting to speak Chinese. I could also understand it when someone misinterprets the original text. But what I cannot understand is that:
- He overrides existing correct translations with problematic ones.
- The translations are completely irrelevant. Even machine translation could not turn "Julia set" into "human body art". And there are a lot of other completely irrational ones, I cant think of how anyone would do this by accident.
- He repeatedly adds duplicates to the glossary, sometimes reaching about 10 duplicates of the same thing, and all of them are wrong.
(EDIT: Remove "Simplified", Tradicional Chinese is also polluted)

Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good. I don't know who is actually in the right here (I do not speak Chinese) but I have written to the Weblate people about this and asked what we can do. Hopefully I'll get an answer.
Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
Why, that sounds exactly like something that machine translation would do.cathaya7d4 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 05:42Even machine translation could not turn "Julia set" into "human body art".
Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
Having learnt Chinese for 9 years I can confirm that they have indeed been vandalised. There are very inappropriate sex-related translations.
Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
I just googled "human body art" (in Chinese) and there is a pornography site on the first page.hex wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 16:09Why, that sounds exactly like something that machine translation would do.cathaya7d4 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 05:42Even machine translation could not turn "Julia set" into "human body art".

Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
I have been informed by the Weblate people that the person in question has been banned.

Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
When importing translations for 5.4.0 I will reset
zh_CN to https://github.com/minetest/minetest/commit/0b203b35c
zh_TW to https://github.com/minetest/minetest/commit/5505a6af0
which are the last commits before vandalism.
This unfortunately means that all changes done until then are discarded and that Chinese will not have a fully complete translation (though I don't think there are significant missing strings). After that the translation will be open for editing as usual again.

Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
Thank you all so much for your help!
BTW, how should I get a copy of Minetest with translation? On my devices, the Homebrew version is translated but the Android version seems not.
I also realized that it might be sexual content, but it was covered up with alternative terms that even native speakers might not know. So I acted a little carefully.
From my own game experience, the missing translations are mostly setting descriptions. Thankfully they don't matter that much.

Re: Pollution in the Chinese translation on Weblate
As announced I reset the Chinese translations during importing and it's now open for edits again
Translation support on Android has not been added yet, someone has submitted a PR to make this work already.cathaya7d4 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 03:06BTW, how should I get a copy of Minetest with translation? On my devices, the Homebrew version is translated but the Android version seems not.
