does that mean the protections are f**king up the server or the removal of an owner of a protected area is f**king up the server? or neither? plz explain it to meredcrab wrote:Server is up ...
The server was down , and kept down due to a player file that was empty "players/kotofeich" file with 0 byte length..
the player file was corrupted due to a crash of the server
The crash is due to a lua stack overflow...
The stack overflow is due to node_ownership mod
is due to code that consume stack that is dependent of protected area list size.
... node_ownership mod need code reviewing to consume less stack ...
Redcrab's server
"Get busy Living or Get busy Dying" ~Alexander Supertramp
That means that node_ownership reach a limit never reach yet ... in other words, not yet improved with so much protected area definition (more than 200 protected areas) ...Neuro wrote:does that mean the protections are f**king up the server or the removal of an owner of a protected area is f**king up the server? or neither? plz explain it to meredcrab wrote:Server is up ...

So by my own (If I can) or by any contributor , a more "stack friendly" node_ownership code is needed.

i looked into code and there is much space for improvements... but check file withownership definition - i suspect it is somehow mangled. All but one function in node_ownership shouldn't use much stack, this one in remove_area is recursive and if someone is his own parent in grants then it is infinite recursion.

More ores doesn't work too well on old maps - ores don't generate in parts of the map that have already been explored. Now, if the mapgen throws a shit fit again, then moreores might work...at the expense of lots of user constructions. ;-)

Make sure that you didn't forget "-" sign(s).

Well maybe. How about it, Redcrab? It's not like it'll hurt anything to have it there, even if no one ever finds so much as a lump of tin. :-)
