In the first post redcrab wrote:Self-protection request
All player that have "interact" (build) privilege is able to protect area by himself.
No need to request node protection on forum nor to privileged user (cactuz or myself)
When you're in-world, type the command /protect xstart,ystart,zstart xend,yend,zend
Example :
to protect an area from 1200,-30,850 to 1230,50,880 type
/protect 1200,-30,850 1230,50,880
This command has restrictions :
1) you can't protect by yourself more than 2 areas: define your areas wisely
2) if you currently have 2 or more protected areas you can't request more areas by yourself
3) area size can't be bigger than 32x128x32 (x, y, z sizes respectively)
/list_areas and /remove_areas works with /protect

Don't worry about our time
Your area is too big. Maximum self-protect area is 32x128x32.
Btw: Your area is colliding with the Water Pyramid area.

I hard he has 5 servers. I think replacing one of the unused server with this wouldn't do much to hardware, and I think it will be more popular with new map every week.cactuz_pl wrote:Wow! I think this is great idea!ch98 wrote:Why don't redcrab make a server with an copy of this server's map updated every few days so all greafers can go there and not touch anything here.
- "fly", "fast" and "telepotrt" for everyone (and maybe "giveme")
- no protection (except close spawn area - to prevent blocking spawn)
- map copied every week from main server
Advantages:
+ Easy exploring
+ At least part of greifers could riot
+ Testing new mods and versions of Minetest, without risk of damage original world.
Disadvantages:
- I don't know if server will handle new CPU and HDD load.

I have stopped playing minetest, and may not come back to it again. I would like to thank everyone that made the amazing time I had playing it. This account is not in use anymore, and the email has been linked to a unused account. If any administrator reading this has time, feel free to delete my account. Thank you very much for the great experience.
What do you mean?Noogah wrote:CAN WE PLEASE HAVE THE OPTION TO REMOVE OWNERS!?!?
That would be most helpful in some cases.
If you want to remove your own area, type: /remove_areas <area_ID>
I told redcrab about your idea.ch98 wrote:I hard he has 5 servers. I think replacing one of the unused server with this wouldn't do much to hardware, and I think it will be more popular with new map every week.

Btw: Current map size is 9,4 GB.

PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS!
I have a grief report at coordinates -1108,36,-1010
KoalaBear, a resident and subowner of my fort, built a house on this spot. S/he later reported that the house had been entirely removed, along with everything inside of it.
I checked, and it is entirely true.

Dear Noogah,
First of all, thank you for letting me join your village!
Second, the house i built in the village is now completely gone, including everything in the locked chests inside it, which represented roughly 90% of all my minetest possesions. I don't know if it was you, someone else, or a map bug, but this is very dissapointing.
Sincerely,
KoalaBear

To my knowledge, there have been grief reports where KoalaBear was responsible and thus he was rolled back. Depending on when the house was built, it may have gone due to rollback.
A list of my mods can be found here.
If anyone hits land # 568 while gigging a tunnel, tell Reverand or Me (ch98) for the land. If it does not go to surface inside the land, it will be allowed. (I want only 1 entrance to that place. sorry)
