Water not only on zero level

by hijera » Post

What do you think about this idea? It could be some caves with water underground, or small lakes on mountains or even on flying islands... then we can make beautiful waterfalls , interesting waterpathes etc...

I know the first map generator made giant caves filled with water, that was awesome.
Also, erlehmann was talking about waterfalls for -delta so, wait and see...
Not here for a while due to some troubles between my graphic card and Minetest.

What about a bucket which allows you to collect water from the sea? Without destroying "endless" water, limited water can be drained. The collected water is just enough to fill one block and evaporates after a while if it takes up more than one block. So you can build your private swimming pool or some water to jump down from your tower without getting hurt but not endless water to flood everything.

I'm guessing your kinda going along with Terraria's kinda water/fluid system.

I'm pretty sure to do that on a 3D games is very complicated and actually could have a major effect on performance.

That sounds like the 'finite water' mod for minecraft, which is VERY resource intense, and you can cause tsunamis by placing too much of the finite water which will flood the whole map ¬_¬

I've been working on that in my Fork ;>

That commit was that last changes and tweaks to lava I did.
My fork with the latest changes is in my Signature.

Thats just a peak at it, though that lava flow was triggered by me since like water it wont automaticly register that it needs to flow.

Still Got stuff to do to it to get it right so this of it as Alpha-Lava ^^
