[Mod] fc_protect [fc_protect] [0.4.11]

This is my first mod release and my first real attempt at using LUA and Github as a code host.

This is a fork of TenPlus1's protector.... fork. A link to his forum topic is below.

New Features:

- KEYS -

Keys are now required to protect locked doors and chests from being entered/used. Please view the Github link for more info as I do not have much time at the moment. This post will be edited in the future with more information.

I would have put a video up to demonstrate but both SimpleScreenRecorder and GTK-RecordMyDesktop are not playing nicely with ElementaryOS (Video is always black.). Until I switch to another distro or figure out this issue I am at a loss.

Pull requests are welcome and encouraged. I would love some help implementing features and learning how to use Github.

I only write for the latest stable version of Minetest (v0.4.11) so only that version is supported.

handy although I dont like using keys myself... always lose them :)

Yeah lol. Its more designed to be a survival thing. And it is useless for teams right now since you cannot copy them yet. I plan on having the protections cost a rental fee as well that scales with the number of protections you have. So inactive players lose their land over time.

Check out Sokomine's locks mod, I think that has the ability to copy keys you could check:

Thanks for mentionning it, and yes, it does indeed have keys, but they're diffrent from RL keys. When you want to use a locked object, you can do so if you have a key or keychain in your inventory *and* are allowed to use the object. The real access check is done by the locked object. Thus, if you loose a key, it's not a problem - you can craft a new one, and you'll be able to access all your shared locked objects and those you've been granted access to. That's more practical than having to store one key for each locked chest/door.
