This mod adds circuits performing logical and arithmetical operations.
A circuit is a directed acyclic graph of gates, inputs and outputs connected by wires.
Video of an example (I'm sorry that the language is German, just mute and watch)
Mesecons and digilines are well thought and proven, but I want to show you an alternative way.
Disadvantages:
- bugs (surely)
- more complex setup
- bigger size of circuits
- less sensors and effectors (at the moment)
Similarities:
~ new components are included easily
Advantages:
+ combination of numbers, strings, and boolean values
+ type checking and error messages
+ no cyclic computations (consistent and hopefully server friendly)
+ no programming required
+ wires can be removed after setup (configurable)
However dcircuits can be combined with mesecons and digilines via converters.

hum, i'm sure it's great but the textures have scorched my eyes, and are not very presice... But directed circuts are a cool addition!

Re: [Mod] Directed Circuits [0.5] [dcircuits]
So it's basically a Lua Controller from Mesecons implemented with in-world nodes?

Thank you!azekill_DIABLO wrote:hum, i'm sure it's great but the textures have scorched my eyes, and are not very presice... But directed circuts are a cool addition!
The textures are technical. They mainly indicate a direction, so they are just labeled arrows. What makes the screenshot confusing are the lines without arrowhead of the constants. (I should use constants with single output.)
You can replace a Luacontroller, but that is not the main idea.Linuxdirk wrote:So it's basically a Lua Controller from Mesecons implemented with in-world nodes?

it's great doing physical coding more that uacontroller which is not always very clear
