How do you go to the nether or the End? I have never done this in Minecraft so I'll need a bit of help...
I dont care if these are incomplete, I just want to check them out

Nether:
1)You get at least 10 obsidian with a diamond pickaxe.
2)Place them in a 2*3 manner (2 blocks width, 3 blocks height, leave the corners off).
3)Light it with flint and steel and jump in.

End:
1)You kill enough Blazes and Endermen to craft at least 15 eyes of ender.
2)Throw the eye into the air by right clicking.
3)Follow it. It may drop or may shatter.
4)Keep doing this until they stop going anywhere and drop onto the same block everytime.
5)Dig the block until you find a stone structure. It's called a stronghold.
6)Find a portal in the stronghold. Be careful as there is lava under it.
7)Put 12 eyes of ender in the portal frame blocks. It should light up.
8)Jump In!

1)Add Enchanting Table please because the one in xdecor is crap.
2)Why is my nether so empty? (without mobs or anything, as in Minecraft I would find them instantly.

You can either simply build the portal OR repeat steps 2-8.

Hey Wuzzy I made this piece as a quick test for music for Mineclone. Would you be interested in adding it in if I make a good handful of other pieces like this? (some darker in tone as well for night and hell and such, as well)

This question has been already answered, but I want to add something. I know it's currently not obvious at all on how to reach the Nether or the End, and I am aware this is a problem. I think it's near-impossible to figure out from within the game, which I definitely want to change in the long term.

Wait. Do you mean you found an end portal shrine with ALL 12 end portal frame blocks already filled in with an eye? Without touching anything?

Thanks for the music contributions! Sadly, I am currently very reluctant to add any new music files because the loading/startup time of MCL2 would just skyrocket fast (I tried). This is a problem in Minetest and it's not possible yet to just disable the loading of certain files. Minetest is a bit dumb when it comes to startup times. Every time you restart MCL2, Minetest seems to just load every single file again …

Anyway, for music, I prefer a light/simple mood (which you did) and I like both music contributions so far. Personally, I like BlazeGamingUnltd's track a bit better than speak's track. But sadly, you cannot expect to see any new music in MCL2 anytime soon.

Actually, I'm in Creative.
I did find the correct blocks after updating, and am able to access the Nether and the End (although I get into the endcity, not the place where you battle the ender dragon).

So what if there was a music mod for MineClone 2 so if people wanted it they can add the mod. Also can we get some of the 1.14 items as decoration once you get the textures so I can effectively design the villages?

that would be a great update for this (sub-)game and a good fix for the existing code!

Oh yeah that's a great idea, I will make a mod that adds music. :) I'll post it here once it's done, but Wuzzy of course this won't be an official pack or anything, just my own addition for this mod. (and whoever else wants to use it)

I was attempting to replicate some redstone contraptions from Minecraft in Minetest, and found that some features were lacking or very buggy. I don't expect these to be fixed right away; I only wish that people be aware of them.


  1. Redstone dust transmit signals at full strength infinitely
    - To replicate: Place a redstone wire of more than 15 blocks, with a redstone torch on one end, and a redstone lamp on the other.
    - Expected behavior: The torch signal will fail to transmit, and the lamp won't turn on.
    - Current behavior: The redstone lamp turns on, even if the signal travels for more than 15 blocks.
    - Why? This allows for ridiculously broken builds. I managed to repeat a circuit for an hourly clock 6 times, and still loop the redstone signal, despite the entire thing being 75+ blocks long and 14 blocks wide.
  2. Hoppers don't release a redstone pulse
    - To replicate: Place a hopper, next to another hopper. Next to the first hopper, place a redstone lamp. Throw any item into the first hopper.
    - Expected behavior: The item entering the hopper will release a redstone pulse, lighting up the lamp.
    - Current behavior: The lamp fails to light up.
    - Why? This would be useful if you want to detect if items are going into hoppers via redstone lamps, or if you want to make hopper clocks.
  3. Items don't get sorted properly through hoppers
    - To replicate: follow the second build shown in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDmxkObgA2s)
    - Expected behavior: The items get sorted.
    - Current behavior: All items end up in the bottom storage unit, even the named items.
    - Why? Item sorters are otherwise broken in MC2.
  4. Pistons push other pistons, even if there's one block between them
    - To replicate: Place a sticky piston, lying on the ground, with a redstone block. Leave a space. Place down another sticky piston with any block facing the same direction, so both pistons are in one line. Place a redstone torch next to the first piston.
    - Expected behavior: The pistons will both move, the first piston pushing the redstone block to power the second piston, and afterwards the second piston pushes its own block. Both the pistons themselves remain in place.
    - Current behavior: The second piston somehow gets pushed, despite not being in the way of the first piston. Thus, when it gets depowered, it's now two blocks away from the first piston.
    - Why? This can break some piston builds.

Here's just a reminder to everyone that MineClone 2 is still in ALPHA stage. This means it's officially incomplete, many core features are still missings, there are millions of bugs, etc. If you point out inconsistencies with MC, there's a great chance I am already aware. Usually I just did not get around to implement that particular feature yet, or not
fully yet. It's just a huge amount of work.

That having said, MineClone 2 is still playable, but be prepared for bugs and breakage.

Sadly, I cannot predict when the next version will come out, sorry. :-(

So I've been working on the spawn eggs... They look way better when I use the MC spawn eggs. It's difficult to have to do so many overlays because there has to be the right combination for it to look good...

I apologize if I have offended you with my post, I just wanted to warn anyone who would try to replicate popular redstone builds in MC2.

I really love this game, so I'd also like to thank you for your effort in making this. It's not perfect, but it does well in replicating the spirit of Minecraft.

Hello,
I've added some locale files, but it seems that they are being ignored.
I've also tried using the bundled DE locales, by changing the engine's language to DE, they're being ignored as well.
Is there some setting to be activated, or is something not working properly?

MineClone2 v0.53.3
Minetest v5.0.0 (Win) and v5.0.1 (Linux)

Thank you, I've checked that post but that doesn't seem to be my case.
On Linux I've compiled the engine using

so the GUI's localization works correclty - I've tried switching to DE, EN, and IT and it worked as expected.

Back to MineClone's localization, while using the DE engine's GUI, it also used the MineClone's DE localization - e.g. opening the inventory and hovering on the Recipe Book's icon used the german tooltip.

Now I've tried this:
- Open mcl_inventory.de.tr
- Change "Recipe book=Fertigungsbuch" to "Recipe book=Ricettario"

The tooltip has changed as expected.
Now I'm starting to suspect that the engine isn't seeing the italian locale file.

Directory:

../minetest/games/mineclone2/mods/HUD/mcl_inventory/locale/

Files:

template.txt
mcl_inventory.de.tr
mcl_inventory.it.tr

The IT file has been created by duplicating - i.e. copy, paste, rename - template.txt.
I've also checked if changing .it. to .it_IT. could fix the problem, it didn't.
