[Mod] FromScratch (Ex Nihilo) [0.3.1a] [fromscratch]

FromScratch is basically a Minetest implementation of the Minecraft mod Ex Nihilo for my SkyFactory game.

  • Compost leaves and saplings in barrels to make dirt
  • Infest leaves with silk worms to get string
  • Craft a sieve and get cobblestone from dirt
  • Melt cobblestone in a crucible to get lava
  • Crush cobblestone into gravel with a hammer, same for gravel to sand and sand to dust
  • Sieve gravel, sand and dust to find ores
  • In a barrel, mix dust and water to get clay or water and lava to make obsidian

It provides a small API to add custom Barrels and Crucibles.

This is pretty neat and seems to be just like how my sky test mod was in its early stages.

It does seem to have some advantages over my crucible sieve and barrel. Would you be interested in perhaps working together?

Sifting now in minetest! So much new and awesome mods lately (inspired by time tested MC mods)

Yes currently it's a port, but some gameplay elements will probably change. If they don't I'll just rename my mod Ex Nihilo and start describing it as a port.

Most of people comes here to find an alternative to Minecraft, so I think it could be really nice to have MC mods equivalents.

hello, is it possible to automate the filling of barrels or sieves by making it for example compatible with mods like hopper or mesecons?

Is it planned to be able to sift with several sieves as in the original gameplay?

Otherwise thank you very much for this mod!

Support for hoppers, mesecons, pipeworks, and nodeio would probably work better not to fill but to allow the extraction of the materials being produced by these devices.
