[SOLVED]Failed to load and run script

by leblu » Fri Jan 18, 2019 12:56

Hello,

I'm trying to setup a minetest server (Ubuntu) with the game MineClone2. Unfortunatly I'm getting following error:

Code: Select all

Any idea how I can fix this?

Kind regards

Hi, please make sure your version of Minetest is up to date. You should have 0.4.16 at least. If not, add the PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:minetestdevs/stable
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

Hello, thank you for your help. Unfortunately it didn't help =/
With apt install minetest-server, it installs the version "0.4.13+repack-1build1".
With the command "apt-cache show minetest-server" it also only provides me this version...

apt upgrade is currently not available, since there are some pending Plesk updates...

EDIT:

"apt install -t minetestdevs/stable minetest-server" gives me following error:
"E: The value 'minetestdevs/stable' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not available in the sources"

install minetest, not minetest-server. Minetest will include minetest server, although you may need to use minetest --server instead of minetestserver

Ah thank you. It seems to work now. Will add MineClone2 and run a quick test to close this topic.
Thank you very much!

Ofcourse, since it's not a service, the setup is a bit more work. I'll have to create a user for it and run it from that user. (Running on a VPS without a GUI)

Sorry, i'm kinda like a noob here... how do I specify which game to run? I can't find any related config file, are argument. I did pass the -config parameter with my previous config file, and some settings are working, but it won't start the MineClone2 game but instead the default minetest.

EDIT:
OK,.. passed the gameid
