[Mod] Traps Mod [1.3] [traps]

Traps

This is my first mod, be nice...

This mod adds booby traps to Minetest, I made it especially for the Hunger Games Server.

1) Mine (traps:mine)
A block disguised as a grass block
Ka Boom!. Code used from the Nuke Mod

2) Cage Trap (traps:cage)
A block disguised as a grass block
When a player walks over the block, they get trapped in by glass.
Another player has to release them by standing on the release block beside them.

NOTE: You can use the variable "block_to_place" to change which block is placed for the walls of the cage (eg: to obidistan)


3) Lava Drop Trap (traps:lava)
Spawns lava above the player that cascades around them, trapping them.

4) Spikes
Credits to RabbiBob for the code.

5) Sink Blocks

I am open for any critisms, suggestions, alternate textures, and ideas for new traps

License: GPLv2 for code, CC0 for textures (excluding Minetest Default textures)

Requires / Depends
Moreblocks, but you can make it not require it by using a different block for the cage
(change the variable block_to_add in cage.lua)

Yes, i built it for servers : ), specifically adventure ones

Maybe the blocks should look a little different from the originals? I mean, I know the Hunger Games is no-holds-barred, but it still seems a bit unfair.

I disagree. When I did my fake grass trap, I figured a good trap is not noticeable. Of course I'm evil too....

I did leave a mark where I set my spike trap though ;-)

How about i make it a file in textures, eg: traps_cage_spawn, so you can change it?

You could make traps you get through and damage traps
I was in the Nether...
and came back.

You should probably change your recipes to use Mese Crystals and Mese Crystal Fragments where they are most appropriate, in place of the old Mese objects.

I try to load the mod but when I open up minetest it says failed to load and run etc. This happened to some of my other mods but don't know why. Please reply if you can help, thx.

what is the mod error (in debug.txt)? did you rename the folder from "traps-master" to "traps"?

Wow Nice Mod Ruben it be great for, The Legend of Zelda Link to the Test :) hey, do like help Ruben? since you can if like.

Make a Node spawn lava when dig is a idea :)

Oh and btw, I have more ideas just for TLOZ:LTTT
