[MOD] GrojMod [WIP]

This is my first mod for Minetest, GrojMod!

This mod is based on the show, Grojband! Practice playing Guitar, Bass, Keyboard or Drums using only your mouse! Start a band on a server and play shows or play solo on a single-player world. Meet the characters of Grojband and beat up Corey's sister, Trina! Or hang out with Nick Mallory the coolest kid in Peaceville.

Tools:
Electric Guitar: Needs to be within 10 blocks of an amp node to play guitar notes. (Added!)
Acoustic Guitar: Play's guitar notes even without an amp. (Added!)
Electric Bass: Needs to be within 10 blocks of an amp node to play bass notes. (Added!)
Acoustic Bass: Play's bass notes even without an amp. (Added!)
Keyboard: Play's piano notes without an amp. (Added!)
Acoustic Drum Set: Play's drum notes without an amp. (Coming Soon!)

please tell me any errors you get.
I have added a crafting recipe(in the code) for keyboard and drums but they are really buggy so don't use them please.

depends.txt --> remove the , and press return/enter after mobf

I didn't get much sound and accidentally hit invisible trina with the bass guitar (but then at least she started walking)

Looking foward to try this mod out when more is added.

sorry i haven't fixed the invisible entity's yet.
do you know how i can export to b3d from a blend file as the .x doesn't work?
I added in the acoustic Guitar and Bass but i haven't updated the dropbox zip yet.

Your welcome. Most advanced thing I did with blender was installing it once, but there are other forum members who can surely help you with your question.

First, download this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/czrjumkt055cj9q/B3DExport.py

Then click on the user preferences button:

Then go to the addons tab, and click the install from file button:
Image

Then just find the file and enable it. (remember to click save user settings)

1. V0.3 released!

2. would anyone be able to help me with either the nodebox code for the drum set or how to use a .b3d mesh for a node.

If you want help, ask Jordach. He has done a lot with that type of thing. As for the nodebox, use rubenwardy's Node Box Editor

I would but it only allow you to export one node box not a set like I need.

can I just export all boxes and put the code together or doesn't that work?

Also thanks for your help with the blender problem. and what would Jordach be able to help with?

A nodebox is a table to be put in a node definition. It isn't a single file. Also, Jordach can hlelp with the mesh nodes thing.

Thanks I got the drum set to work but it only has a solid wood texture.
I need to fix it more before I upload it.
Next I am working on fireworks and spotlights.
Any ideas?

The mod or the fireworks?
To play simply copy the folder called grojmod in the zip into the mods folder of minetest.

Note: Got the fireworks going!

Hello,

No i've installed it but i don't know how to play guitar, keyboard, ... Fireworks I know, i used torch.
And i haven't textures for Kin, Kon, Laney and Nick.

I haven't done kin, kon, laney or nick yet. model or texture.
Sorry.

I haven't recorded all the sounds yet for the instruments.
right now you have to left click to change note and right click to play the note.

If I could do key presses I would but I don't know how.

I use right and left click but i have no sound. Can you explain exactly how to play ?

V0.5 will release electric bass,electric guitar, acoustic bass and acoustic guitar sound.

I have the electric guitar working so far but i still need sounds for the other instruments.
